07 240DA taking on water possibly in multiple places.

Four months into owning my new 2007 240DA, wet cabin carpet. Off to the dealer, many months later problem found (it took a ton of hours, boat was disassembled to find). Trim tab mounting was drilled too big. Water broke past the poor bedding job done at Sea Ray, ran on the upside of the stinger which causes water to flow all the way forward towards the water tank (it's a "downhill" run), drop on to the floor, into that step area, through a weep hole into the engine compartment, out another weep hole into the lower bilge to be pumped out. Yep, the water did a complete tour from back to front and back again. Repair was oversized screws and better bedding. However, 8 years later, water back on the carpet, so I just rebedded the trim tabs, problem solved for probably another 8 years.

spraying is not enough . you have to put the boat in the water , let sit some people on the bow to push the eye underwater and you will see if its tight or if water slowly comes in drop for drop .

when you have water in this compartment there are two options : leaking watertank or the eye . i tell you its the eye .

Hmmmm.... I have a 2006 270 AJ that has had the wet carpet at the bottom step, then where the cabin table inserts on the platform...that area was wet too. Marina said the freshwater tank was leaking at the bottom connections.. a real p.i.t.a to get to! they 'fixed' the fittings that were leaking and problem solved, or so they said. Less than a week after the fix, I turned on the fw tank and head system, took a 30 min 'no wake' ride and the platform was wet again!
They swear it's not dripping and the next course of action they suggested was replacing the fw tank! Only seems to leak when the freshwater pump and head are turned on.

yes it may be a leaking watertank , but when he says its saltwater ( i guess everybody puts fresh water in the tank :) )
in his case its the eye. the fix of this is fairly easy with a good sealant - thats the good news !
