I'm using upgraded Cree LED's with separate drivers to match.

Success... Finished them yesterday and ran them for 8 hrs straight. I'm more then happy with the design now. These will come with a separate driver controller box that would be mounted somewhere in the boat also. I was happy with the other LED's I had used, but these Cree LED's really work good. I'll be making a few sets after Christmas if anyone is interested. PM me
Before and after...:D

Mind posting some pictures of the housing and how it is secured to the boat? How big are the dimensions of the housing would be helpful for me. It looks like you just secure glass over the led?

Thanks

Wow, those are bright. I'm looking for a set of multi-color, trim tab mounted lights for mine. Not sure if you are interested in trying that project out or not but you would have a customer if so. :)

I don't think you will find milti color trim tab lights. I could make you a set of these though. I have them on my boat and they worked out great.

The housing in total is around 5" round , 1.5" tall. Mounts right to the transom.

Looks like you have a combo of tab and transom mounted in those pics, were the tab mounted ones not enough light? I'm trying to avoid the transom mounts, but not sure if just having tab mounted lights would be sufficient.

And you are right, tab mounted multi-color lights are available but spendy. Hurley has a set for ~$1600. They look nice, come with a remote control, etc. but they are expensive.

Yea, My boat has a 12' beam. 4 lights make it look nice. I may have 4 set's of the trim tabs ones made. I have left over aluminum. I just have to ask my friend if he can mill them out for me, but I'll be doing the round ones also.
