496 mag versu 350 mag

Twin 496.
Wow..If that's a 320 with 496 B3, it must fly!! My 340 V-drive with 496 and 10 people doesn't flinch a second when getting on plane and still cruises at 30mph...As said before. Salt water v-drive, fresh B3.
Here's a 340 v-drive with 496's

Interesting enough, i just found another 32', with 40 hours, that's right, 40 hours. Original owner, 2007, 350 mags, BIII,used it for two years, lost interest. Put it in storage!
Now, I realize a boat that sits in storage has its own set of problems, but 40 hours!! With a trailer! It is a premium price but if I can get it for $110,000.00. I may have to jump on it.
It even has a custom camper canvas.

I'm not sure if I should stick my nose where it does not belong, but that pricing for the 320 seems high to me. I would think more like 85-95 if that storage has been inside, and the trailer is high quality and in good shape. Ultimately, the small blocks in a boat that size would be a deal killer for me.

Also, another thing to consider is what gensets these boats have. Westerbeke's are less common as they were installed by Marinemax, where as the Kohlers were installed at the factory. You should really listen to each from the cabin. There is a big difference in noise and vibration.

What part of the country are you looking in?

My friend has a 06 with 350hrs for 90K. You can't trailer it anyway without permits. Also do you have a truck that can haul 13000lbs+

MNM99, I am hear for advise and apreciate the input.
My focus is on a fresh water boat, where I get it does not matter. It will end up in a marina in Norther Wisconsin, as I do all of my boating in the Apostle Island area. My only need for a trailer is winter storage. I have no desire to trailer this boat other that to its new home and back and forth from storage twice a year. Kohlers gens are in both. What is perfered?

Any gen is better than no gen. Not to ruffle any feathers, but I have heard both Kohlers and Westerbekes in 310's and 340's. The Westerbeke is much quieter and smoother. A close friend of mine just replaced his Kohler with a sound shield to a WB without one for those very reasons.

So, after sleeping on this, on a boat with 40 hours or 215 hours, typically would that have a huge impact on price?

Not in my experience. My opinion is clean and lower hour boats don't sell for much more, but they do sell faster.

If you are looking at 320's and 340's, I would suggest you look in states like TX, Oklahoma, Nevada, AZ, etc. There are lots of good freshwater examples there.

The wife and I took a trip to The Lake of The Ozarks this past weekend. Looked at 6 boats. 4, 320's, a 340 and a 360. The bigger boats only for comparison sake as the are getting abit out of our bidget. We were real close on making a offer on the 2005, 340, but it spent most of its life in the salt, ant the maintenance records did not show much. Beautiful boat, but it has been on the market for a year. I had to walk on this one. My original reason for making the trip was to check over a 2007, 320. Hours at 217, 8.1's. just recieved a accepted offer today. Assuming the survey and seatrial is fine, we will either pick it up our have it delivered in March.
I am having a trailer build by loadmaster, any recomendations on a towing service?

As you are having a trailer built I would contact U-Ship www.U-Ship.com. When I moved from California to New Orleans last year I had the Cobalt towed here on it's own trailer. 2300 miles and it was $1200. The guy who towed it had a Dodge/Cummins 3500 and said he could tow 15,000 lbs.

Appreciate the reply Shawn, I will reach out to them.
Marine Max out of Lake of the Ozark's quoted $5400, on a trailer or flatbed, cost was the same. That price seemed a bit high but we will see what U-ship comes in at.

If it can be towed on it's own trailer there is a substantial savings. My towed load was just under 6000 lbs. and was not over-wide.

Mike,
First, you can rarely go wrong with a bigger engine. For the most part they don't drink anymore gas than the smaller one (sometimes less), and minimal difference in maintenance. Well worth it when you're loaded and want to quickly get on plane.

Now, it might be sacrilegious to mention another boat on the SeaRay forum, but in the mid 30s class I'd do a Formula over the SeaRay. Better quality, better performance, walk thru windshield, port lounge and very nice layout. Just don't get the ones with Volvo engines.

I think SeaRay missed the boat in the low to mid 30s boats. Their mid to high 20s are great (had two of them). And over 39 into the 40s they are great. Now, the later mid 30s boats are much better designed and they figured out the walk thru windshield, which for me on ANY BOAT smaller than ~35 is an absolute MUST. Love my 280 Dancer.

And loved my Formula 31PC, a bit smaller than your 33 Sea Ray, but weight in at 14,400. Was easy to handle with the walk thru windshield and a bow thruster. And solid in the waves. If that's too small the 34PC is a bit bigger. Much bigger than that, I'd jump to the 39 or bigger SeaRay with diesels. My buddy has the 32 Sundancer and my 31PC was faster on less fuel, more comfy and had the windshield, but his was a bit cheaper.
