Hi everyone just wanted to introduce myself. I recently became the owner of a '97 Sundancer 240. I've been around and on Sea Rays a long time, but never owned one until now. I'm CG licensed captain that has owned a towing franchise, been a boat repo investigator and captain and now a boat broker.

The marina that was selling my boat had it for some time, the previous owner had passed away so it had been sitting for a while. When I took my wife to show it to her, to get the approval, I stepped into knee high water in the cabin. That's been cleared out, dried and mold/mildew treated. Still have several projects to work on but it's getting there.

So that's me, hope to be able to draw on my experience to help others and ask for help from you all as well.

Welcome to CSR Captain!

Welcome! You must have a lot of stories being both a captain and salvage experience.

Hope to see you out running the Bay. Where are you planning to keep her? We are up off Middle River. Coming up on the end of our season, going to have to haul shortly.

Take Care!!

Welcome.....

I have to ask. How much did they pay you to take it?
LOL. I gave them $2500, but I store it for free while I'm working on it. The interior cleanup wasnt too bad. It's totally clean inside now and I'm basically an expert on mold abatement now. Rest of the boat is in decent shape, only has 250 hrs on the engine. Still trying to figure out how to the stepwell drain can be removed to access replace the drain line, I think that has a crack in it. And also looking for a cockpit cover for it. If any one has an old one laying around I'd be very interested and would happily pay for it.

You have no idea the stories I could tell, was actually thinking about writing a book. Plenty to talk about, over 1000 tows, countless salvages big and small, and over 600 repossessions.

I'm on Frog Mortar. Know Sue Creek well, practically grew up at BYC.

Welcome from one Marylander to another!
