Boat Info
280DA, Magic Tilt triple axle, 2006 GMC 2500 D/A
Engines
T4.3/ Alpha
2005 Sea Ray 280 Sun Dancer. I really hate to let her go, but now that I have custody and will be raising my Grand children it is no longer practical for us. I will be in the market for a nicer 28-32' Center Console with twins to take them out instead. I have owned this boat since 2010. I have maintained and installed everything with an open checkbook! Only the best is good enough. I just recently installed 2 new Jasper 4.3 engines. Alpha outdrives gone through and new impellers. New stainless steel steering pin, seals replaced and everything made perfect on port gimbal while engines out. Bilge completely gelcoated (I have a little OCD and believe in a perfectly clean bilge)! Water heater replaced with Stainless steel marine unit while engines out. New bilge pumps. Also, I installed 3 new Lumitec SeaBlazeX Spectrum LED FULL COLOR CHANGING Underwater Lights! It's very hard to list everything! I have a KVH 12v DirecTv receiver. I use a portable King "in Motion" portable sat dish. I upgrade the TV to 12v LCD with integrated DVD and the sound can also come over the entire boat through the Jensen Marine receiver with built in weather and Sirius radio. It has a hard wired connection for ipod/phone connectivity. I converted the front V-berth to be a permanent bed with a custom made mattress (very comfortable) from Fox Mattress! I have all the original cushions and cherry wood table, that can be reinstalled, all wrapped up and is in new condition. We made a custom cushion to convert the face to face booth dinette to a bed or a lounging area without having to use the seat backs. We removed the original cabinet above the dinette and and remade it so you have more room and its more comfortable to lounge/sit in and watch tv at night. This is a very comfortable boat for 2 people to spend a weekend or an entire week on at marinas!

I just installed a new rebuilt later model Cruise Air reverse cycle heat pump as I am a Cruise Air dealer and wifey will be very upset if a/c quits..lol. I have real teak inserts for galley floor and bath/shower floor. Mid cabin sleeps 2 comfortably. We have custom bedspread as well as changed the privacy curtain and window privacy curtains to very nice and top end reddish maroon and black material. I have a full upholstery shop and interior design center as we customize and rebuild luxury buses.

I have a Garmin 740s touchscreen with radar and thru hull sonar. Great sounding stereo system with 12" JBL powered sub. Full camper enclosure with many new panels and screens when you unzip the isinglass. The front clear panels were upgraded to Stratoglass for clarity. Polished stainless steel swivel anchor attached to windless. 5.0 Kohler generator with new water pump and fresh service with plugs and zincs.

The cockpit upholstery is new and we added silver piping around the edges. I custom fabricated mounts in engine room to hold the Magma grill while under way. I have a custom pipe that screws into swim platform to mount grill. Custom cockpit cover fro storage. This boat has been kept inside since I have had it and the shine shows it! 2006 Magic Tilt heavy trailer with brand new Maxxis load range e tires! Triple axel disc brakes with brand new surge brake/tongue. It pulls and stops great! I warn you, it takes a good truck to handle. It is very easy to load and unload, as my wife and I do it faster than most can even back theirs down!

Sorry about long post. There is so much I'm missing and it pains me to do this as it was our dream boat for a while! I have MANY pictures, but it must be seen in person to really appreciate. All lights converted to LED's. I have many extra parts as well as ALL the original pieces that will be included.

I will post some pics when I get time to resize, some can be viewed on the craigslist ad.

Good luck on the sale of your boat. I have a 280 as well. I saw your craigslist add had a picture of a pull out drawer, looked to be under the sink. Did you add that? I need a drawer like that as my 280 does not have and needs. Do you have more details you could share. Thanks.

Some time ago I made a post about us building the drawer and adding a drop down cabinet door to access the storage under the V berth once we converted to full time bed. We added a clothes hanging rod in mid cabin also. We were getting it set up to be comfortable to do a Bimini Fling but the first one I couldn't leave work and the second and last one of the season was cancelled as we were pulling into marina in Ft Lauderdale to to Trooical Storm Don!! There are lots of posts here from 2012-2013 on my cabinet mods.

The craigslist posting has expired - how much are you asking/

New price is $60,000.00. I am somewhat flexible but it's not a fire sale.
