Hey guys, increasingly I am getting emails from the new folks around here asking specific questions about how to fix your boat. That is not what the Contact Us link is for, so please don't ask me how to fix your generator. The Contact Us link is for site related issues.

The proper way to go about getting your answer is to post a question in the proper forum, where we have plenty of experienced boaters just waiting to chime in. Please keep in mind that Club Sea Ray is a collection of Sea Ray owners and enthusiast and has no connection to the Sea Ray Corporate division whatsoever.

Additionally, when you register, make sure you respond to the confirmation email. A lot of times it ends up in your junk folder.

Thanks!

Do not title your new thread seeking advice "Need help" or "Bad Day on the water".

Instead, title your thread in a way that quickly tells the reader what your problem is or is about....like, "5.7 Merc stalling at idle".

This also helps when others search for past posts about specific problems.

Put lots of specifics in your initial posting such as year, make, and model of what you are talking about. Many of our most technically savvy members are not going to play 100 questions trying to get basic troubleshooting info.

So maybe the title of this thread should have been "Don't Use The Contact Us Link For Boat Questions"???

Scott: I just can't figure out why my dog sleeps so good when I use the Honda generator in the midcabin... I have used the contact link 3 times to ask you, but I cannot get a response. Can you post your phone number so I can text you?

You nailed it. Sadly I can't change the title with the new format.
Everyday I am getting bombarded with questions from our new members on how to fix boat related issues. Come on guys, post your questions online, don't use the Contact Us link for boat questions or Sea Ray questions.

Contact Us is for:
Lost passwords
Unable to register
General Site related issues

It is not for:
Where can I get a manual for my 1979 Sea Ray?
I can't figure out where my on switch is for the <insert various systems here>
Why doesn't my boat go faster than my neighbors? etc. etc.

Again, Club Sea Ray does not equal Sea Ray, we no affiliation with the boat manufacturer.
