In the past, I have always had the AC pumping water through system and discharge overboard. Today, air is running fine but no water pumping through. Typically, if there is a clog or seacock off then the system will shutdown due to over heat. Not the case. I checked the strainer and while needed to be cleaned, not restricting flow. Pump was not running at all. So, with the cooler weather, is it possible that he system did not need the water to cool? My experience is that water pumps/flows regardless. Help!

The system requires a water flow period. What makes me nervous is are you sure your not pumping water into your boat?

Two weeks ago, was pumping fine. I stepped into bilge area and not pumping at all. Courious what could have changed since last time run. Also, my last units would shut off to ptotect against damage and did not today. Just had a thought- can check tomorrow but is there a circuit breaker for ac pump ?

My pump runs only when the compressors are running. Your fan could be in manual and with cooler weather, your compressor may not be running. Set your thermostat lower than ambient temp and see if the pump runs with the compressor.

Water pump comes on when the heat is on as well.

You might of had just the fan running with neither cooling or heating selected.

I have my heat on tonight..... wow it works good. Nice and toasty.

Mine doesn't run all the time either.

My AC units require water flow before energizing the compressors. It sure sounds odd that your unit operates without proving water flow. Determine if your AC water pump is running and if so, where is the water being pumped to??

Just as I had suspected (after I read your comments), I only had the fan on not the unit. If you know me once I start thinking of something I have to get to the bottom. Go to marina this afternoon, take a look at control panel and DUH! Fan only. Kick on the A/C, water pumps, cabin cools, frosty cold silver in hand and could not help but think, "I knew that"
What a great forum!
