i wasn't concerned about it until someone made a remark to the effect of 'better hope the hull doesn't crack in half'..lol..I have a 2006 260DA.
I don't intentionally hit big wakes at speed but, around Boston harbor there is a lot of traffic and it does happen. That, and planing over rough chop..she can take a real beating. I had kind of assumed the engineers planned for this. Figured they must have made the hull many times stronger than would be necessary.
But is there a legit possibility of this happening..any known occurrences?

The hull can take more than your wife can and that is typically the safety valve that protects the hull. Sea Ray hulls and boats are very strong and can take it. TV's, coffee makers and microwaves may not fair so well.

I would not be concerned about the hull breaking. The hull is solid fiberglass and very thick on the bottom. You're going to break before the hull.

I would be much more concerned about the long term effects on the hull to deck joint. The stainless screws under the rub rail holding it together can loosen over time. Sea Ray didn't use much of sealant in the joint so the repeated flexing can break the seal on what little is there.

Fiberglass hull not an issue. However, engines are heavy and sit on small points that are adjustable. Constant beating and launch a boat over large waves can move engines out of spec. Hence creating extra ware on vdives, shafts or gimbal bearings.

Checking alignments should be part of ever other years maintenance schedule.

i have also read that interior components, such as the head, which are installed as a single unit during the boats construction could break loose from the tabs they are glued to

A friend had an automotive repair shop until he retired recently. He bought and sold many boats over the years. Customers knew he was in to boats and would sell him their non running boats.
7 or 8 years ago he bought one that has broken in half. He bought it for the trailer, motor, and Outdrive. I think it was a Crownline. Anyway, the owner hit a wake a little too hard and it broke the hull. The thing looked perfect sitting on the trailer, but when you pulled down on the bow it flexed down while the back half of the boat stayed still.
