Looking to go a little bigger and have been looking at a mid 90's vintage Express 250.
Going from a 88 250 CC to something with a bit more room and amenities.
Any comments are welcome! Thanks.

I'm not sure that would really give you ALL that more. The EC is still, essentially, a CC - just a taller cabin. But I guess a lot of this depends on how much more room you really need/want. Have you looked at DA's?

Yes, I've looked at some DA's, but not much to choose from around here. Also want a newer boat, as mine is 30 years old now, and starting to show some of her age.

I had a '94EC. V-berth was generous. Head small. With a 5.7 I would say underpowered if you put more than 5 adults. Took too long and moving folks forward to get on plane. Loved the upper dinette with the pass thru to below.
I had custom camper canvas made to make more useable space during bad and cooler weather.

ex-Wife and I spent a year with it and then put the list of what we wanted in our next boat. Windlass, HVAC, more power, etc...

I had a 25 foot cruiser I just sold. My advice would be go big or go home. 25 foot cruiser is when it starts to become a royal PITA to pull around on a trailer. I ended up having her painted and put her in a slip. If I knew when i bought her that would be the route that we took with the boat I would have bought much bigger, hense the recent sale of my 25 footer.

So, I've put off buying something bigger, and decided to sink some $ into my present boat. She's a great boat and I know her inside and out. I'll probably fix the vinyl tears, and add some snap in carpet, and fix the cracks in the gelcoat.
