I thought I would try and post a title that someone could for in the future.

I'm having a new issue. The sensor and display were working fine.

Now when I check the water level, the "Full" light is always on. The other lights go out as the tank is drained. So I know when it's empty. In fact, the "Full" display goes a little fainter (I think) when it's filling up.

Before I pull anything apart, I thought I'd ask if anyone knows the part / how this works / why it would be sensing the full level, etc.

It's not a huge issue, but thought I'd get it sorted if I understood the system.

Most of these gauges are prone to problems. At one time, it was the number one warranty claim for Tiara. After the second failure, we replaced ours with a simple, air pressure type (Tank Tender). Walstrom's Marina in Harbor Springs did the simple conversion and it has been flawless since 2004. There are 35 year old Hatterases with this gauge and they still work just as they did when they were installed at the factory. I figure we have paid for ours many times over by avoiding unnecessary pump outs. You know tank levels exactly, and one gauge measures fresh water, black water and diesel tanks.

Haven't had it apart. However mine works like yours. Full is always illuminated. If it is full all will be illuminated. If it is approaching 3\4 full all are illuminated but 3\4 blinks. If it is 1\2 full all will be illuminated but 3\4. Wierd but works.

Any updates on this problem? Just noticed that my indicator reads full (all lights on) when I depress the switch to check it regardless of how much, or how little, water is in the fresh water tank.
This just started this weekend.

Swap it out with a Tank Tender and the problem is fixed for as long as the boat is in service.
