We're quite well, thank you. The admiral and I spent last weekend looking at a hardtop 460, and actually almost had a deal. Oh well, we'll keep looking.....

Hi guys, looking to buy a 2006 340DA. Was there ever any problems with water intrusion on the 8.1 horizon in that year?
Also, we like to ride without the camper canvas but this one has a curved bar with the canvas rolled (snaps and zip)
Is there a way to fold down this bar?
Thanks

first off welcome to CSR....unfortunately you have posted this in the wrong thread.....this is the thread you are interested in.... http://clubsearay.com/index.php?thr...40-sundancer-thread.59501/page-57#post-953794 ......this thread is for earlier model 340's from 1999 - early 2003..... but to answer one of your questions the water reversion problems only affected engines from 1999 - 2002.....the exhaust was redesigned in 2002 and later models.....

good luck....

i was wondering if someone could post pics for me via PM/text, i'm not so computer savvy.
As another member suggested, you may become a sponsoring member to gain the perk of being able to publish larger/more photos. If you prefer, you can use a free hosting site instead (for example, create a public album on facebook) and link to the images from here.

Because once you do get a boat, you'll have to post pics or it didn't happen....and I'm sure you'll have more how-to questions, as well.

Welcome aboard, and good luck!

the filler cushion for the sofa bed in the cabin was missing when I bought my boat so I would like to make one....a dock friend has a 1999 340 and said I could use his cushion as a template....

my question is what type foam do I need to buy?....I know nothing about this subject....do I just look for 'upholstery foam'.....I want the cushion to have the same firmness as the existing sofa cushions....anyone know the 'firmness rating' of the sofa cushions?....

any pointers on which type foam to purchase are appreciated...

Appreciate any knowledgeable 340 owners input...

Looking at a 2000 340. Freshwater boat with 7.4's and Hurth drives.

Boat is in a covered slip, and in the water year round.

Good and bad of the 340's? Any particular areas I should take a good look at boat, system, engine wise?

Thanks guys.

You're going from a 98 370 to a 00 340? I think you're going to find that the systems are largely the same between these boats. I assume you're planning on a survey. It should survey just like your 370 - look for wet spots on deck, around the windlass at hatches especially, the usual.

The good - you're going to be very familiar with how the boat operates. The bad - it's just a smaller version of the boat you already owned! ha.

What should people do if the surveyor finds some wet spots on the deck? Have them fixed or discount the asking price?

That's potentially a very expensive repair ($10k+). I'd personally prefer have it fixed since the next buyer will likely have the same questions. It's a very common issue on our vintage Sea Rays...

New 01 340 owner needing to know what group size batteries fit in the trays. Buying some new ones and I'm not at the boat to check.

I know group 29s fit my 2002 they mite take 31, but I used 29

Hey guys (and gals), I found a little wheel laying in the sliding door track of our 02 340. Door still operates fine but I should repair.
Whats involved with the disassembly of this, any experienced people?
Thanks all!
