Mystic Pointe Marina in Aventura

Never been there, but looks like a really nice spot, no current, floating docks, protected, secure - Puts you close to the haulover sandbar - real easy shot to Miami and beyond or north to ft Lauderdale - do you get access to ALL the condo amenities? parking? Is there really a full time dockmaster (a lot of these condo marinas say they do, but don't). Have you considered a dry stack?

i'm too big for dry stack, unfortunately, as i've looked. with a slip, you get one parking place, access to everything, and supposedly there is a full-time dock master. seems too good to be true :)

I agree 100%. I dry-stacked at 163rd (now luxury condos). It's a great boating area. Close enough to be convenient, far enough to avoid hassle.

I've never been to Mystic Pointe, but I offered to check out a boat there for a CSR member a few years ago. I wish I could remember who that was. I think it was a 380DA...?

Try the new haulover marine center - that's where I am - it is a brand new facility with all new equipment including the biggest marine forklift in the world......they store/lift boats over 50'.....tons of big quad engine cc's too - the best part, its completely enclosed - no worries about theft, sun, damage, etc...

Its right at the inlet - You can be at Miami Beach Marina in 30min!

I am familiar with it. I kept my boat their (Slip 80) Oct. 2015 to 6/16. Nice location with easy access to Haulover inlet. The slips are privately owned. They come with a designated parking space which are on the roof of the parking garage so not the most convenient. You can also valet your car at the condo for $2/day. there is a small convenience store on site. The only thing I didn't like is the traffic in the area can get crazy at times. What else do you want to know?

cod, it looks to be extremely easy in and out, with i'm assuming very little tide and current. is that correct? and it looks like a safe place to keep the boat. i'm planning on traveling down for about 1 week a month.

Steve, what were your slip fees there?Per season? Per month? Per foot? Electric? It's time for me to start thinking about going South for the winter. I'm sure you don't miss LI.

We used to be at Williams island in adventura. I think it is just around the corner from mystic. Kept the dinghy in rack storage near by.

Not sure about price difference between Mystic and Williams island. Williams island facilities are comparable to a four seasons hotel spa. Never had any issues, staff was great.

Yes, easy in and out with no tide issue. ..It's also a safe place and they have a dock master. It is a gated community and they are strict who they let in. Never had an issue and felt comfortable leaving it there. We live on the west coast and at times didn't make it to the boat for a few weeks. Btw, it's a very easy run to Bimini, less than 2 hours from Haulover inlet.

Brian, my dock fees were $900/ month. Most want at least a 6 month commitment. Electric on average was around $50/month. Bring her down.... You won't regret it....

ididntdoit, I'll ask my questions here as others might benefit as well. i have never dry stacked, they quoted me a little over $1K/mo. with unlimited in/out. my plan is to come down about once every 4-8 weeks and live on boat for a week, in marinas usually, sometimes dropping the hook. does the facility have cleaning area to spray down boat? and could i get my outboards serviced there while on rack? seems like a great situation. can i fly in, call, and they would have boat in water for me? and i could leave a rental car in the parking lot for a week at a time? you think it would work for me and my situation?

They have a courtesy dock with room for 5-6 boats - it has water, pump out and power. They will leave you in overnight if you want - I recently did this as I had a flight out early the next am (they can walk the boat over from there to haul it out). I didn't have a car there (but it would not be a problem as there is a ton of parking) I used uber. They will hose the bottom of the boat off when it comes out and they have work racks if you want more done. You could wash and flush your boat at the courtesy dock or do it on a work rack and yes, you can arrange service there too.

We drive or fly in 3-4 times a year for periods of 1 to 7 weeks. There is a municipal marina next door in Haulover park, the sand bar for the day, or behind the state park across the channel for a good overnight anchorage - all the Miami Marinas are 1hr away if you stay inside an 30min if you go outside - Key Largo (marina del mar) is about 60 miles - Ft Lauderdale is 2 hrs away inside due to it being all no wake (1/2 hr or so if you go outside) - If you want to be closer to Ft Lauderdale (we love Bahia Mar) Harbortowne Marina can probably accommodate your boat too. The benefit there is your even closer to an airport.

The only negative I find with rack storing is having to time laying the boat up or having it splashed. With a wet slip, its always there, in your "home port" ready to go. For us, this is really not a problem though, it is often 3 months or so between our visits and we time our arrivals appropriately - when we are going to arrive late, I tell them to launch my boat at the end of the day. The crews at Haulover and Harbortowne (both wesrec facilities) are top notch. Haulover shares a basin with the busiest boat ramp in South Florida, but it is big enough that any traffic is manageable and the current does not seem to effect it either.

thanks! i'm going to try it out. cruising my boat down in January. look forward to exploring the area as we love Miami Beach.

Been at Mystic Pointe (renting) for a couple of months now. The marina withstood Irma like a champ! Put an offer in on buying a slip today. Looks like I might be permanent.

Richie89, we are moving our SR MY40 into slip #85 on October 7th. Regarding the response to Irma, what slip were you in? Can we expect the staff to help on optimizing how to best tie up for Hurricane prep? Thanks, Steve
