anyone thinking about heading to San Juan this weekend?

We got back on Saturday, and I'll do a full follow-up later this week of our two-week 620 mile trip. Prior to heading home, we checked the info at Marrowstone, New Dungeoness, and Smith Island, and an early crossing was warranted and it paid off handsomely: left James Island at 6:30a, went through the Strait, and docked in Tacoma at 10:40a (4 hr 10 min transit time at a leisurely pace). Like a millpond. Thanks for all those who have generously contributed knowledge to this thread!

Glad that you had a successful and safe trip! That's what boating is all about - helping others to stay safe and not repeat mistakes you might have made in the past. Thankfully there are so many great tools to help us now that weren't available many years ago. Looking forward to hearing about your trip!

Glad to hear you got back safely and will be waiting for your navigation report so that I can start preparing for my trip.
