has anyone found an attractive way to apply a non-skid material to the steps leading down from the cockpit into the cabin of a cruiser or yacht?.....our steps will get a little slippery with wet feet or when the Admiral wears the wrong style of shoes....:(......the steps have a slight texture but it is not very effective IMO.....

thanks.....

I know a couple of people who went with the Aqua Marine Deck product for interior steps that were too slippery. I believe one may have gotten it without the stripes.

I made my own. They are doubled up 3/4" MDF w/ glued on vinyl floor planks on them. Not very slippery. Cabin floor is done in the same material. Thanks to JJ Chones for the inspiration.

My first thought was pickup truck bedliner paint... :) Definitely wouldn't slip!

But maybe a Seadek type material - that would like very nice and installation is a snap, but might be a bit expensive. I would guesstimate a few hundred bucks-ish.

'Nother thought might be a canvas slip cover that snaps on -either around the perimeter or underneath (I can't remember what the underside of those steps looks like, off hand, though).

Here is a 340 I did in Infinity with straps that snap on the bottom of the step. It is fairly non-slip.

A friend with a 65’ Tolleycraft with wood stairs to the flying bridge has a clear non-skid tape applied in two strips across the treads. Looks nice actually and is effective. I need to put some on my dock staircase as I made the treads using Trex and it is slick when wet.
