so do I have a chance of getting a slip anywhere on FI right now? ive been told by fellow boaters to go there for years and am thinking of taking the family over for the holiday. im coming from Haverstraw ny , so its a long enough trip to get some sense of adventure , but not kill ourselves. my kids aren't riding bikes yet , so I have to be in walking distance of all the good stuff. ive researched marinas , but I don't have a good idea from local knowledge.
thanks in advance

Probably not.......

Some offer advanced reservations. Look into Seaview or Flynns. If you want more of an "alternative" place, check out Cherry Grove or The Pines. Most of the other places are resedent only, and are locked out on the weekends (Thursday through Monday).

Other places, such as Davis Park & Sailors Haven are first come, and will fill this coming week for sure.

Not that it helps much now, but Watch Hill will reopen next year.

I went on the flynns and seaview sites, prices are pretty steep for the weekend - 3 night minimum at $295/night. bummer, but I guess that's the holiday nonsense

You could also try Ocean Beach marina. It is a Town of Islip owned marina. Not too many slips, but they may have availability.

The Dockmaster can be reached at 631-583-5153.

Ocean Beach may not have water or power so check on that. Also I believe they are first come first served.

Ocean Beach marina does not have power or water and they don't want overnighters, although I have stayed there over night, since there was no way they were gonna get us to leave in our condition :). I am glad I was able to get back on the boat that night. We had a great time - I think :)
