40 sedan bridge forum

How much HP does the 3116s put out? There were 2 configurations, 300 HP and 350 HP. I have the 350HP 3116s and that's just enough power. I wouldn't want to have any less than that. Just my preference.

They are great boats and we LOVE ours. Good luck with your search.

It has the 350 HP 3116s in it.

I looked a 400 sedan bridge today. Looked in the floor compartment in the 2nd stateroom. Had some water in it. All the other bilges / compartments were dry. Any thoughts on the cause or what to check?
Plumbing lines to the guest head run through that compartment. They run on the very forward part of the compartment. Stick your head in there and you can see them. Any of them could be leaking and running down the line and dripping off at their lowest point into that compartment

Thanks for the response! I will note that if I get to a survey and add it to a punch list. The salesman noted it also so it might get fixed before I go back.

I had the same problem and it ended up being a bad sump float. The bilge in the sump would not kick on when grey water was filling the box and water would leak (overflow) out of the sump box and into the forward bilge area. Remove the floor panel covering the sump area (the one outside the second state room door) and run water into it and see if it is leaking into the forward bilge area. If this is the problem, it is an easy fix. Changed both the bilge and the float if you take the cover off and keep the old ones for an emergency spare if needed. It took me about forty five minutes to change both the bilge pump and float. If that is not the problem, you probably have a drain hose leaking from either shower, sinks, or galley sink. Good luck

It's hard to say. That compartment in my boat has been completely dry the entire time I've owned the boat (2 years), but there's water stains on that carpet in that compartment, so water was in there at some point. There's a few of us with these boats that have been chasing water leaks for years. For your situation, the place I'd start would be the windshield. Maybe a bad seal there and rain water somehow found it's way into that low spot. Just a guess.

The sump drain box is screwed to the floor. My sump box was leaking threw the screw holes due to dried up silicone. Removed each screw after draining the box and filled the holes with fresh silicone and re screwed. Problem solved. A small extension mirror enabled me to see the leaks.

That bilge will collect from several areas. Look for leaks around the windshield. I'm finding more and more leaking around the 15 year mark......could be sump pump, could be pex pipe leaking......could be sewage, but you will smell that difference for sure.

Edit: I did not see all the responses to your question before responding, I'm still getting used to the site updates. Good luck, great boat !

So I have a 30 amp pedestal. I plug a 30 amp splitter into the pedestal and run two 30 amp cords to the boat. I was thinking the alternative is to use the splitter in the boat trunk and just run one 30 amp cord to the pedestal.

On my current boat, a 340 Sundancer, I have the splitter in the trunk and run one 30 amp cable since there was only 1 30 amp outlet on the pedestal. Just moved to a larger slip that has a 50 amp / 120V pedestal. Still running the same setup but with an adapter from 50A to 30A 120V.

I'm splitting 30 amps at my home port marina, and struggling with power. Running the AC Converter, refrig, ice maker and 2 Air Conditioner units is just a tic under 30 amps. I have melted the plug on my 30A --> 2-30A Splitter. Tread lightly with this setup.

I'm very happy with splitting 50/250 or 2 30a power.

My Dancer only has one AC unit so I do not draw that much power. When I upgrade to a 400 Sedan Bridge I will need to rethink my approach.

Interesting problem when staying on the hook running the generator continuously. We have no cool water. The generator heats up the fresh water tank, which is right behind it. Any ideas?

Anyone mess w the auto pilot heading sensor? Mine seems to be off. Not sure where it is or how to adjust or if it's bad. Any input is appreciated

It should be in a box in the guest stateroom under the port bunk. That's where mine is on the 44DB and I recall other posters finding it there in their 400s
Good luck with that

I have come to like that "feature" to have a warm water anchor was down ;) it helps water heater with the back to back showers too.

Do you run the blowers constantly? That may help cool thr area some

Thanks. So I guess it's just a fact of life. I do run the blower all the time.

Ha! I never considered the "warm" water an issue. Ours is almost always warm even without running the genny.

had same issues last month and it was fresh water coming from a leaking faucet in guest bath

We just changed out a defective float in a club member's drain sump. When the pump can't pump the water ends up leaking out of the sump and draining aft to the midship bilge.
