I notice a pretty significant amount of water coming from the transmission this evening. I have a 2006 380 Sundancer. Not sure of the transmissions though. I believe they are dripless. Anyone have an idea of what might cause this. It seems to be where a rubber hose goes in to the transmission. Cooler line? I read somewhere about caps coming off, etc.
Any thoughts

Thanks,
Mark

Not too sure if you're talking about water coming in via the dripless prop shaft seals or water finding its way into the transmission itself... please clarify.

The water seems to be coming from the drive shaft. In an area next to a blue coupling. The part of the drive shaft is silver.

You most-likely have tides shaft seals and one needs to be replaced. Typically these are installed with a spare just up the shaft from the leaking one. Is there a chance you can post a picture? The repair is fairly serious and can be made in the water if you have a spare seal. But many times the mechanic will recommend a quick haul and I somewhat agree. Is yours leaking at rest or only underway?

If it is a "Tides" dripless seal, hopefully there is a "spare" in a carrier kit a little further up the shaft. The old seal will have to be removed and the spare will be slid down the shaft and installed. The mechanic should be able to do this with the boat in the water. If there is no spare seal, the boat will have to be hauled and the shaft will have to be pulled to install a new seal. You also have to check why the seal failed initially. More than likely, it was not getting adequate water to lubricate.
