I was looking for some advice for Rehoboth bay. This weekend I plan to trailer my 185 down to Delaware, my parents live in Lewes. I was thinking of using the ramp at Masseys landing, (rehoboth bay) then heading north to the Lewes/rehoboth canal. Hopefully finding somewhere to dock near Irish eyes or the shops in that area. I've never boated this area. Just wondering if that canal gets nasty or if it's not a good idea for any reason. Any local advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance

I'm in lewes, your plan is very doable in your size boat. The bay is shallow, follow channel also watch the canal in the area of the bridges in Rehoboth, is skinny there. It takes about an hour to run from Masseys to Lewes as it's mostly no wake in the canal. PM me if you need more info.

There is a town marina in town and a town dock. Also there are some slips by Eyes, can get skinny at low tide. Canal has a lot of tidal current and a big range in tide height. Your boat should have no problem. The canal trip is a beautiful ride. PM me for more info or if you want a phone number you can call me

Thanks for the reply. I will send a pm if I have any other questions. I have a GPS and I will be sure to stay in the channel. Now to see if the weather cooperates. Thanks again
