I though I would share this because lately i've been converting everything over to LED. I added some led accent lights under the gunnels, also added some cool purple led lights to my gauge cluster, and found a led anchor light. So lastly trying to find a "quality" led navigation light. Went on Amazon and Ebay and nothing unless you want to spend $200 and start messing with the factory wiring. I must have bought 5 different led bulbs until I found one that just barely under the lens. To make things more challenging I never thought about the color hue. All it came in was cool white. After putting the new bulb in and checking it out, it looked super cool on the red side but it was very much blue and not green on the green side. Called the place i got it from and of course they don't make it in warm white which is the color needed to keep this correct. I didn't want to give up on this led idea for the navigation lights. One day something clicked and I went to office max and found a yellow sharpie marker and colored the glass surround yellow to get a more natural color to it. Good news is what was once blue is now back to green, however the red side looks pretty orange. So I took a paper towel and WD40 and wiped half of the bulb off and left the other side yellow and put the lens back on and what do you know. Looks PERFECT. Best $10 I've spent on the boat. Here are some pics of the lights. Sorry some of the pic are upside down. Couldn't figure out how to fix it. You get the idea I hope.

I love your focus on getting everything changed to LED, but navigation lights are regulated by the coastguard. Not just color, which is one part, but intensity as well. If you read the rules you can see they have specific requirements for distance. That's why new lights in LED cost a little more because they meet specific requirements.

I'm not sure it will ever matter where you boat, but I have been blinded by some custom navigation lights in the channel coming back into the lake from Galveston Bay.

Boat looks awesome so not trying to bust your bubble, just trying to inform.

Thanks

Josh

For the last 3 seasons since changing my aft-facing white stern light to LED, the USCG has checked my red/green lights on the bow to verify they still have light bulbs installed (not LEDs). When I added radar, I replaced my anchor light with a new LED aft light/anchor light which is USCG certified. Long story short, I would likely have not passed the VSC with the after market LED bulbs because as NotHerDecision noted, the USCG certified lights and bulbs have a specific intensity and color hue. You may never have an issue, but just for awareness, you may if inspected.
