Hi, I have posted about this issue before but cant find the thread.
I was hoping somebody may have some idea on a problem Im having
with both engines cutting out for a split secound when on the plane
I also hear the alarm bleep once
All the gauges drop for a secound
It can also happens at idle
I own a 340 Sea ray sundancer 2006
Twin 8.1 Mercruisers with V drives
The boat also has Smart craft sc 5500
Ive had advice on what will set the single beep alarm off
but no luck on the engines quitting for a split secound and then runs normal
I have had a diagnostics run and no error codes show up, all temps are fine
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Just had new risers and manifolds
Oil change and new filters
Also replaced the enginge start switch
Not possitive both engines cut out but both engine gauges drop
Thanks in advanced
David

if both engines cut out at exactly the same time and recover together we have to think of what is common to both engines.....I'm drawing a blank on that one right now....each engine has its own ignition system and its own computer and its own fuel supply system.....

the only thing I can sort of think of is the emergency start system that ties the starting batteries of both engines together but that only happens when the rocker switch on the dash is engaged.....

hmmmm...........

I had the same issue this weekend. Same scenario. It happened one other time on the port motor only. Also, on another occasion all gauges dropped to zero and stayed there despite the engine running fine at harbor speed. Turned both motors off and restarted with all gauges working fine.

Hi Mine sometimes does it on the port engine, Byt the gauges drop and come back uo straight away.
It can happen as soon as I fire up the engines.

Had the Stbd motor die on plane. All gauges went dead, vessel view lit up with every fault possible. Would restart, then act up, die etc. Back at the dock we found the main wiring harness at the top of the engine lose. Tightened up and hasn't happened since.
