Noticed this spring the bearing whine...might have left it on when I left last week as when I arrived this weekend the 12v switch will not hold if one of the two interior switches are on. Sounds like a shorted/seized motor to me.

How is that mounted under there and where? I'm hoping that whole panel doesn't need to come off...have no clue of where to start on getting those decorative panels off!

Did mine a few years ago. Not that big of a deal and the panel is not that hard to get out.
If you poke your head under that panel you should see two (if memory serves) small aluminum brackets.
One in the vertical toward the bow and one in the horizontal. Once those are removed, push the panel slightly upwards and then pull the bottom of the panel out a bit.
The bottom of the panel sits in a track that you need to clear to be able to remove it. It will take a bit of wiggling to get it out of there.

We were a day away from leaving for a trip when mind died, so in a bind, I went to Tiffany's (West Marine) and bought a 3 inch bilge blower ( louder than original) thinking I'd replace it later.
3 years down the road, It is still installed.....

The other motors are available, just takes a bit of digging to find them.

Thanks for the great intel. For some reason I didn't get a notification you responded.

Now I'm going to be kicking myself for that extra 3 inch bilge blower I had laying around the garage from an old project that I may have tossed out...would now have a purpose!

I made a 3" inline work. Just needed another section of 3" hose and I cut the flange off the original unit to reuse it.

The inline is louder.
