Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

I replaced my cabin fridge with an isotherm elegance. I no longer need the wood paneling piece from the old fridge. Cabinets are cherry. Anyone need it?

Just moved from the Puget Sound to Wisconsin for work. The boat is still on the Puget Sound. Just wondering, aside from bottom paint and zincs, what else would need to be done when moving a boat from salt water to fresh water?

having a beer to celebrate not having to replace exhaust components on the engines any more......

This brings up a question.

My 340 was baught new on freshwater, and has been here until I bough it.. so never seen salt water. I have never replaced manifolds on any of my other boats. But never had 700 hours on them either. Will this be a issue or not?

My mechanic put a camera down my exhaust to check for wear. Maybe u can have this done on the cheap. Some of the exhaust components are removed when changing impellors so next time u do that ask to have pics done inside exhaust

I just did both impellers on my 8.1s and did not remove any of the exhaust to do so... I do have a bore scope though.

That's true the job can certainly be done without touching exhaust, but a lot of times the marinas will take it off because it makes the job easier. It was just a thought

Very rare to have to replace the manifolds on a freshwater boat. I have never had to in any of the boats I have owned, nor has anyone that I know. Salt water environments destroy manifolds, fresh water...not so much.

Anyone have a portable ice maker on board? Where do you keep it so it's not in the way? I'd like to put one under the passenger seat in cockpit but cannot find one that fits in there

We have one that we keep on the shelf under the steps. Fits nicely. It is a portable counter top unit that makes "soft ice". We use bottled water. Runs on 110, but once turned on, makes its first batch of ice in about 10 minutes and then about every 8 minutes there after.
Works great for us!

I'm looking to replace the light bulbs in the courtesy lights down by the floor with LEDs. Can anyone provide a link to the bulb they used? The LED needs to be very short to clear the cover.

Has anyone had a mechanic give a labor estimate to install a new Rule 1500 bilge pump, float switch, and check valve? I received an estimate of 4 hours. This is for the rear bilge pump which is accessible, as best it can be. Seems like it should only take 2 hours.. tops..

Sounds more like a DIY type project. The pump should just snap in where the old one was and otherwise you will just follow wire for wire when hooking up. I had to replace the pump in the sump pump last year and was pretty simple. I am sure the mechanic is trying to account for all time on the project especially if they have to travel to you.

I did this last season in under an hour. The 2000 gph Rule will fit into same base and all the wires are the same.

Under those circumstance I would think 2 hours would probably seem more than fair. It's only a hand full of crimps that need to be made and end heat shrunk. Remounting the base should not be that big of a deal unless they need to do something substantial.

Has anyone replaced this part on their hot water heater? I get hot water for about 10 secs before it turns cool. I have replaced the heater element and the thermostat and still no change. I called Atwood and they did not show this part so maybe this is installed by SeaRay. Anyways it appears to be a temperature control valve. If you replaced yours can you tell me your symptoms and if you have the part number that would be great...
