Where has this forum gone?

Well, I for one, don't like Facebook, am not on it and don't plan to be. I think the gold standard for a forum to help owners is clubsearay.com. There may be a lot of interaction, sharing of recipes and looking as strangers children, between members on a Facebook page, but if you have a broke boat and need help, you stand a lot better chance of getting sound, quality advice from experienced boaters right here.

I think another reason may be that social media is a lot more active these days.
There are currently four Sea Ray Facebook groups :-
Sea Ray Owners - 6500+ members,
Sea Ray Owners/Lovers - 1400+ members,
Sea Ray Owners Club - 950 members and
Club Sea Ray - 40+ members (mostly from this forum I believe)

Even tho there is a lot of technical discussion and knowledge sharing on these Facebook groups, a forum, by nature, and CSR is certainly no exception, is still far superior for in depth discussion and technical assistance.

Cheers

There's more than just those.
there is also one

Very true. Not to mention, the information on the FB groups is hard, if not impossible, to find for later use. People post a question and the answers are posted in the comments of the original post...good luck finding the nugget of info you needed that was posted 12 months ago that's buried in a comment with 48 replies (and 45 of the replies simply say "following"). Replying to a post by saying "following" is a huge pet peeve of mine.

If only I was closer I absolutely would! With my husband and I, our love of boating evolved at the same time and I think that helped. We learned everything together. Would you consider taking an on-water boating course with your wife? An instructor will put you both through your paces. That's what we did and it was fun to see that I could dock the boat as well as my husband could. We're both still learning our new boat and it's been a great experience to go through it together. Good luck!

Thanks Sandy. She's already been thought the dealer's Women on Water program and has been qualified though the PowerSquadron's training as well. She just has no interest in operating and tends to fear being at the helm anywhere but open water. Think she needs a mentor.

There's probably actually a need for a ladies only section where women can mentor each other, build confidence, and share experiences. Then again... what do I know? LOL!
