460 DA Owners Thread

Nice instrument light upgrade, how many bulbs and holders did the complete job take please?

Graham

Only 10...1 for each gauge...Super simple to install! No wires to mess with, the socket twists out and you twist turn the new one in with the bulb. And of course, the bulbs and sockets come in 10 packs. :) There are also other colors available if blue isn't your thing.

Hey Guys, I'm looking for a bow and possibly a stern thruster for my sea ray 460 da. Anybody have any recommendations? thanks. Lance

Mine has the Vetus bow and stern thrusters.
I like having them there when needed.
It was originally equippied with 24V bow thruster and a previous owner added the stern thruster and swapped the bow thruster down to a 12V motor. I beleieve that I'd recommend the 24V motors as my 12V bow thruster seems under powered.
Be sure you have good local support as the Vetus folks don't know much about their products.

I finally got the mats from Corinthian Marine installed. It's dark outside but I snapped a few pictures.

I am honestly impressed with this flooring, it's quality stuff for sure.

In all fairness, making the template was a PITA big time and it took them a month to make it but both the wife and I are very satisfied.

Notice the lack of snaps, it is velcro!

Hi Josh, I sent you a private message with a few questions about the cockpit AC when you get a chance. :smt038
Have a GREAT week!

Thanks Mike & NotHerDecision. Have either of you had to replace the trucks and guide on the cabin hatch yet? Mine is getting extremely difficult to open.

Funny you ask this.... Just talked about this with my boat neighbor yesterday. Probably saving this project for the fall so let me know if you tackle it.

Mine is sliding well for now.

Check that your door track hardware is tight. If it loosens it may cause the sliding mechanism to bind; it's not difficult to get at.
I clean the track every year and then spray with a silicone lubricant.

Hello,
I had my entire door system out this winter to replace the fridge. It is very easy to do and simple to replace. Tackling it for the first time may take you two hours but after that it is a breeze. I did not need to order new trucks I just took them off and cleaned them really well then applied some silicone to them. Now the Admiral says it rolls too easy...lol

Wolf, when you replaced that fridge and had to take the door down, did you have to remove the far port side of the dash?

No Sir I did not. I installed a Nova Kool RFU 9000. My wife and I could carry it down the gangway without any problems once the door was removed. (Both panels need to come out though).

The NovaKool fit the original opening almost perfectly..I needed to trim about 1/4" off the side and top for it to fit. The added 2 cubic feet is well worth it over the Norcold we removed. The NovaKool design is great...the entire electrical component system and connections are at the bottom so it makes it easy to finish wiring. The Norcold had it all at the top and the AC plug was a stretch to get to the lower receptacle.

To match the cabinet finish I bought some Formica that matched the cabinets and slid the pieces into the door panels. I didn't want black or Stainless Steel so we want with a wood grained Formica.
Feel free to ask anything else.:smt038

Did the outer cabinet panels still worked when reversed? It looks like that model has the freezer on the bottom.

Hi Josh,
I don't have the outer panels installed because the previous owner took them off. Luckily he saved them and is sending them to me. If I were to put them on, I will secure the 2 panels together making them one unit that fully opens and allows access to both the fridge and the freezer at the same time.

We decided on the NovaKool for a couple reasons. It fit the same opening (essentially), has 2.1 MORE cubic feet of space, and the fridge is on top. We use the fridge door 100x more than the freezer door. I never liked having to kneel on the ground to get things out of the back of the Norcold and we never used the freezer for the most part.

Hope that helps.
Bill

Great looking job on the A/C, please update once you've used it in the dead of summer. I have to ask though, are your cup holders back lit with blue lights?
