SEA TEMP reading 136:

The sea temp in the center of my smart gauges is reading 136. Has anybody ever experience this ? and what did you do to correct it?

Anyone ever swap their stock clarion head unit with a different kind? It looks to be a double din size. I'm wanting something that has Bluetooth audio capabilities for my 02.
 
Ok so, they were talking about a full blown shorepower station at home. That'd be nice so i can winterize the ac/heat when i bring it home for the winter i guess. Or i can easily just winterize those items while at dock still.

You don't need 110 VAC to winterize AC/heat system.

Empty the water tank,
clean AC Strainer,
isolate and drain HW heater,
pour abt 4 gallons of RV anti Freeze into water tank,
run all faucets until water turns color of AF,
use the shower head to run AF into drain on head deck
Flush the head (assumes you pumped this out when you still had the opportunity),
attach hose to wash down tap in transom locker. On end of hose attach adaptor with ⅝" tygon tubing.
insert tubing into AC water outlet & make sure through hull valve under dinette seat is open, as well as through hull pickup,
open wash down tap, when AF drains out of pickup fitting AC is done.
use hose to run AF through the drain in the cabin entryway step.

The sides are radiused to match the curve of the deck. It was a shape to fit process, so I can't provide any dimensions. That being said, the radius is fairly large so it's not a difficult job with a moderately aggressive paper and power sander. As I recall I used a belt sander to get a uniform curve.

I also planed the teak so that the thickness equals the height of the hatch sill.

Quick question, how do i start this thing. Nothing turning on when battery selectors turned to on and both. Plugged in shorepower to my garage and the charger light blinking green showing only like 5v on it. Means dead i guess.
 
Chrisvr6, I posted some photos of an upgrade to the Fusion AV-650 in this thread about a year ago. I just bought a piece of black starboard and pulled the cd changer and Clarion head unit out. It was a good opportunity to put in an NMEA 2000 trunk. I added a Fusion NMEA 2000 wired remote in place of the old Clarion unit. Pretty satisfied with it, although it can be a little glitchy, the sound is good and I can share data on the NMEA network. Speed and temp on the Fusion remote or Volume, Track, etc... On the NMEA 2000 MFD.

Which battery is supposed to be the deep cycle house battery on a 3 battery twin engine setup. The aft one only is the deep cycle one in the group. Having some battery troubles and want to make sure my configuration is correct. The charger is also blinking green but needle on scale pegged towards the high side.

Fusion av650 is a great unit, I had the av guy wire in a remote station control at the dash, phone app was hard to use while under way
 
I just bought a house with large enough property, where I can store my trailer during the boating season. Now that I have access to the trailer I thought I'd possibly replace the bunks. Considering the trailer is 14 years old and has been exposed to the elements the whole time, it's probably time for the rebuild. Any recommendations on what to use to replace the bunks, which are all wood on my Loadmaster trailer? I know they have plastic bunk replacements, but considering their size, it will probably cost quite a bit going that route. The carpeting definitely needs replacing, so I will remove it and see exactly how badly the wood has deteriorated.
 
Well that sucks. I just bought a deep cycle for that one aft of the two and the front two i replaced with dual purpose batteries thinking that each one was a starting battery for each engine.

I have a spin on fuel filter just stern to the gen, is this independent to the gen or does it service all engines? Also are the mercs equipped with the canister drop in basket fuel water separater?

One last question, does anyone know what size anchor line and chain are factory installed? 1/2" rope 1/4" chain?

Did you have starting problems/idle problems that you changed the IAC? Check the drive lube bottle and float, but if it is indeed 2 beeps every minute, then it needs to get hooked up to a computer as it could be a various sensor.
 
Has anyone had any problems with their steering? I can't even turn the wheel! Is it the cable? Pump?

Well, the one motor wouldn't start so i figured out it was the ignition coil module and took it off the other motor to see if it would start. It started and i got a new ignition coil module for the motor i stole from and now it has 2 beeps instead of the 1 when you click the ignition and continues on with 2 beeps every minute after that with the engine running. Thinking of switching back the part again to see what happens.

You got anymore info? What happened? When did it work last? Did you check the power steering fluid? Did you check the engine belts?
