I would have thought this was a common thing but I can't seem to find anyone mentioning how they painted on or attached their registration to the dinghy? We have a PVC zodiac that I've been using a removable reg plate with reusable zip ties on the side ropes but I'm constantly deflating ours and would prefer them to be permanent. Anyone have a good reference for a way to permanently get the registration onto the boat?

Thanks guys, I'm going to give that plate a try. I like that it remains flexible and I have some really good two part adhesive from a failed repair of an old dink, so I'll use that to install. You also can't beat $40

I bought a stencil kit from Walmart and used a fat sharpie!
It will last a year or so before fading in the Florida sun and is easy to touch up.

What did you use to attach them with?

I can't remember if the kit came with glue or if I bought it at west marine. It was a simple contact cement

I thought about just oil paint or something super permanent but the big issue was our reg sticker.

I simply went to Boatus.com and had the numbers made from vinyl just like you would on a fiberglass boat. As long as you clean the surface with an approved solvent prior to installing the numbers they will not peel off. I have had them on numerous dinghies for years and years without a single issue. Even the registration stickers hold on just fine.

If you are rolling the boat up its a little bit of a different story but they should still hold up.
