Restoring my 390

Looks like you're going to wind up with a nice boat. Best of luck with it!

Very good post, we know what you are going thru. We bought one in Aug. of 2015 and lots of work to be done this year fresh water tank to replace so make sure your is not leaking before you replace the floor. Good luck in your repairs and updates. Jim

the tanks are made differently on the 89+ ones from what I can tell. I will investigate though.

It would be beneficial to us 390 owners if you could move your restoration over to the "Official 390 E.C. Thread". It is nice to have everything all in one spot for future reference, etc.

Cool vlog. Very nice boat and nice work

How many feet of RGB LED tape was used on each of your salon circular lighting fixtures? I've been thinking of doing the same with mine for the past few years as the old circuline fluorescent fixtures work intermittently. Do you have any night pics of that mod with cover closed?

they were 15ft kits but I ended up cutting off about 2 foot each. I simply ran out of room.

I have been posting on the official 390 thread as well.

If you haven't joined the Sea Ray 390 EC owners group on Facebook I would implore you to do so !

Good stuff....very interesting.

The 390 is a great boat and i love all the info youve been sharing. Have you figured out how to replace the horn? I figured it was behind the large lights in the salon but didnt have much luck.

You need to take down the stb side vallance above the galley window. When I replaced mine years ago, I replaced it with an air horn and installed the small compressor in behind the large galley access panel above the fridge. Go air and you will never regret it ... everybody will hear you coming.

thanks alot. Heading down to the boat today, ill check it out.

mine looks to have come from the factory with an air horn.

It is not working currently.

When I press my horn switch, it sends 12 V+ to both the compressor and the solenoid on the chrome twin trumpets on the deck. The solenoid opens and air is allowed to go into the horn. Fairly simple to troubleshoot. Start with your power source and fuse. Verify 12 V+ is going to to the switch and leaving the switch. Are you getting 12 Volts at the compressor, etc. Check your 12 V- grounds throughout the circuit. Let us know how you make out.

the pump runs and makes pressure. I either have a leak after the pump or the horn is shot.

with age sometimes the HORN itself can get out of tune,on the backside of each trumpet there is a small disc that covers a diaghram adjusting screw.
