Lake Michigan Water Levels 2017

We're based out of Southport Marina in Kenosha and want to say we we're at 8-10ft in the fall. Don't know if you're trying to get a general idea for specific harbors, or looking at the lake as whole, but this article was in the current issue of GLSB if you're interested. See page 40

We are at least 1.5' lower than last year at the moment. That's pretty usual for winter time though.

In the four years we have been in New Buffalo we have boarded our boat three different ways. Just curious if we will have to solve a new water level boarding issue. LOL

Going under the Diversey Harbor bridge this past Sunday, my "wall mark" visuals suggest it's a good 6"-9" lower than my last frame of reference, which was early October 2016.

With hardly any ice coverage this winter and no snow, that makes sense.

According to the Corps of Engineers, water levels were 5" lower on March 31, 2017 than they were on March 31, 2016. Still, current levels are 22" above chart datum.

If the forecast is right, the lake will be in the parking lot in the next couple days. North winds to 50 knots, 14-18 foot waves...yee ha!

I just looked at your forecast, even the bowrider guys will have to stay in port...

THURSDAY NORTH STORM FORCE WINDS TO 50 KT. SNOW LIKELY WITH A CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE MORNING...THEN CHANCE OF SNOW IN THE AFTERNOON. WAVES 18 TO 23 FT OCCASIONALLY TO 28 FT.

Reporting from the West shore of Lake Michigan this weekend 6/04. We traveled to White Fish Bay for a Sunday Fun Day only to find the beach had all but disappeared to the tree line. It does not seem so long ago there was 75 feet of sandy shore. Our marina launch ramps are close to the water level. We will see what mother nature has in store for us.

Yeah, it's high, about a foot above average for this time of year, but still about another foot shy of the record. There isn't a lot of extra wall height here in Chicago lately.
