Hi everyone, there was a thread today about a csr user's frustration with a boat dealer. Just a friendly reminder that CSR is not the forum to complain about your dealers. I am not here to judge right or wrong, so its best to just keep that stuff off the forum. We have nothing to gain by it being here. Thank you

picking and choosing what is displayed is a slippery slope...

This has been the policy since the site started. CSR is a place for anybody involved with the brand to feel welcomed. I have watched too many sites become a wasteland with hatred towards dealers, whether earned or not. There are lots of places online where those of you that need to spew your arguments with dealers can do it. CSR is not one of them.

Hey no problem deleting my thread, it wasn't so much about the dealer as it's about customer service in general.
Everybody have a happy holidays

admin's job is not always easy but I think you do a great job keep up the good work. Love this site no others comes close.

A person's issue with his dealer is just that... between him and his dealer. I can understand asking before a situation shows up. But after it's your bed. Lie in it.

We are smart people and handle these situations every day. Nothing new.

I see your point, but I have also observed negative comments regarding other issues, that had nothing to do with boating on here over the years. One of your mods in particular. Seems to me if you are going to censor certain comments, then do it across the board and keep the site strictly related to boating. That's how the other sites roll.

Believe me, I have a right to really gripe about the dealer in my area since they bailed without really trying. This forum is not the appropriate vehicle for bashing dealers. Their are plenty of opportunities for that elsewhere!

I went to a Colts game last Sunday and the ref called the play completely wrong and I was furious about it... This ref clearly didn't know the rules. I went home and watched my recording....looked up the rule.....and damn he was right.... I hate it when that happens

It's Jim's site and Jim's rules. CSR has been a great place for all of us to talk about and learn about our boats. It has never been a place to call out specific dealers, vendors or service providers. Buyer beware is one thing, but airing your grievances is a whole different animal.

Jim does a great job with CSR and has always been fair. He hosts this site mostly at his own expense and it is a great service to us. Your inference is insulting and even offensive. Jim owns a marine based business and having this forum allow the bashing of other marine based businesses would be in bad form. Anyone with a tiny little bit of business sense should be able to see that. My $.02.

Also, to be honest, Jim doesn't need me to "stick up for him", but this posters insinuation just struck me as wrong.

I think Jim and the moderators do a great job in giving us the freedom to address just about any boating subject while holding the line on posts that violate the rules or run counter to the goal of helping CSR members find solutions to their problems.

The post/thread in question here is a good example. Had the OP simply asked for help in solving a problem he was having with his dealer, there are several of us here who know and understand the both dealer and the owner side of things and we could have offered suggestions to restore the owner's relationship with his dealer. Criticizing a dealer on an open forum before exhausting the proper avenues for such complaints just entrenches everyone in their positions and never gets the intended result.

So, if you have a problem with your dealer or with Sea Ray that you cannot solve on your own, please give CSR members a chance to help you before you begin shouting from the rooftops.

Actually I agree with Jim and closing the original thread, like I said before it's more about customer service then bashing a dealer, if you can't get over that Go to a safe room with some Playdo and some coloring books . So Jim why don't you close this this thread as you have people making judgments without any real knowledge of the situation . It's easy to pretend to be an Internet expert .

I think you brought this on yourself with your original post. Why don't you start over and post a new thread that explains the problems you've had and the steps you've taken to resolve them without naming names and slinging mud. Let others here help you restore your relationship with the dealer and get some results.

You can't have positive without negative. Personally I believe complaint threads should remain. Without them we can't learn from other's experiences. Besides- the truth always comes out in the end. Provided people remain civil there should be no reason to censor or delete.
