Anyone throw caution to the wind and wax your non-slip?

I'm two years into not waxing the non-slip but waxing everything else. I've used the Starbrite non-slip cleaner but nothing else in those areas. It's clear now that I'm going to have to do something different with the non-slip over winter. My deck is nicely waxed, white and looking good while the non-slip areas are clearly not fairing as well.

Anyone out there just simply wax the non-slip with the same wax they use everywhere else? How bad is it? I know there are a million products for proper care of non-slip. As with all things I want to make sure there isn't an easier way before I go all-in on a proper product.

Thanks in advance to the CSR collective!

Go ahead and polish or wax the nonskid but follow up with a coat of Woody Wax. You will still get a nice deep shine this way.

I'm not sure I catch the "throw caution to the wind" analogy, but I am a fanatic about keeping non-slip areas of my boats waxed. It is gel-coat after all and unless you want it to fade, haze, and otherwise look weathered, why wouldn't you?

Both of my current boats have the diamond pattern non-skid. Not to start yet another "which wax is best" debate, I'll just say that have my guys use 3M liquid marine wax. It's easy to apply and wipe out of the diamond cuts. Love the look of the non-slip catching the right light angle and shining as brightly as the flat surfaces.

Well cool. I thought I had read in several places that most folks don't use typical waxes on the non-slip for fear of "slipping". Interesting. It was on the internet so it must have been true, right? ha.

Thanks for the valuable feedback, as usual. Good times...

Polish and Woody's Wax. If not the boat looks half polished. WW will keep you from falling on your butt.

The Shurhold site has great info - I had not seen that until now & will add it to my fall list of things to do
