I was so excited to get my new Infinity woven vinyl flooring for the cockpit of my 320. Once it arrived and I fitted it, it looked amazing. Until,,,,, it gets wet! This is the worst product I have ever purchased. Because of the fact that the backing is a closed cell foam and the top layer is woven vinyl water collects between the layers and when you step on it you leave a trail of bubbles that look like soap suds. It is absolutely AWEFUL to look at.

I have noticed my two year old Infinity has decreased "foaming". I theorized the foaming or bubbles was water being drawn up through the weave by walking on it.

The fact that the foaming of my Infinity has decreased has me wondering if it is perhaps some adhesive migrating from new Infinity?

I will try to get an official answer from Infinity.

maybe hose it down and shop vac up the rinsed water. looks like something left over from the manufacturing process.

I have had mine installed now for 5 months. Haven't experienced any of what you have stated. Are you using an aggressive cleaner on it. I have noticed after using some soap I have to rinse it a little bit more. Nothing as far a stepping on it and seeing bubbles. If I had one complaint, albeit a minor one , it does get hot in the sun.

This is our second season with ours and a few weeks ago was the first I've ever noticed this. Didn't know what to make of it at the time. It's been washed and rained on in the past and it has never foamed in the before until now.

Not a big deal. I noticed it also.. I try not to get it wet, as if it were carpet anyway. When the kids are jumping over the side , climbing in and doing it again it foams some. After they are done I wipe it with a towel and it's gone.

Could it be the soap they use when making it.When I put out door carpet in a boat one time it would get so slippery when wet . I rented a carpet cleaner to get rid of it or hose it down and take a shop vac to it.

It's not soap or residue. And to me it is a big big deal. Even the morning dew foams. I guess I'm just not as willing to accept substandard products as others. Thanks for looking in to it for me David,, sadly "better in a few years" isn't acceptable for the cost.

Mine has almost stopped foaming - after about three good wash/rinses...It must be something from the manufacturing process. Hang in there dpvandy - it gets better and it is a great product...

My buddy's SPX was doing the same thing. We figured it was left over soap from when the dealer/factory prepped the boat. We took all the flooring out and hosed it down really good and it seems to have subsided quite a bit, but still does it some.

Personally, I like my old carpet better. When we raft up together, I noticed the infinity floor gets HOT compared to my carpet. Yes, it dries faster than my carpet, but only once this year has my carpet still been wet when we got back to the slip in the evening. I can live with that compared to a surface that is routinely hot and foamy.

that really does suck.....i would think it is a big deal also....you paid a lot of money for the stuff and you should expect it to not foam....

for what's its worth to anyone reading up on various floor coverings the woven vinyl from Corinthian we installed a year or so ago does not foam.....at least not yet.....

Was on a friends pontoon boat this weekend - does the same thing. They also commented about how hot it gets. I still think it looks great and would prefer it over carpet.

Pros and cons with everything. My foaming slowed down. Never really had a thought about it. Put a towel down, wiped and went away. Can't do that with regular carpet. Wife spilled wine a few times, wiped up all gone, not carpet.... If you had carpet you would have to take it up if the kids kept coming in and out of the water. Carpet gets dirty quick, Hose this stuff off and it looks like new. Dry with towel...Yes it get's hot, I deal with it.

We also have the infinity fabrics. Ours also foams a little. But it has to get really wet to do it. I don't personally think its a bid deal. I like it a lot better than carpet. It is hot, but its probably our color choice. Overall we are very pleased with the look. Not the guy that put it down I'm not so thrilled with. That's another story. We decided on the Grey and black teak look. I wouldn't go back to carpet for nothing.

Very true. Plus, it's a boat. Nothing you put on it will last forever. For that matter, there are pros and cons to just about every product. It's a choice thing I think. I for one wouldn't entertain using the Infinity Flooring. Not that I fault anyone who has it, it's just not my choice.

It looks like this issue will happen and then disappear or subside. That's what I read in the thread anyway.

Good luck!
