1st time in barnegat bay/tices shoal

I would not recommend docking at Waters Edge, use the mooring balls. 90% of the time the water is rocking there and I've seen some decent boats get banged up. It's choppy from the traffic in the channel, and fughettaboutit if it's a S SW wind. Pack a lunch and enjoy Tices, it's a lot of fun and just beautiful behind island beach state park.

Use the furthest mooring ball away from Water's Edge! Couldn't agree more.

How'd it go Pog? Tices must have been bedlam with "Floatchella" going on (whatever the heck that is).

Passed by your marina on a Waverunner Saturday. Think I spotted you putting your sunpad out. You're slip is close to shore, right?

Hey Rondds,

Thanks for checking back on me!! i was going to post some pictures today.
you may have spotted my cousin up on the bow putting the sun pad, if i remember it was around 1pm on saturday.
My slip is very close to the entrance of the marina from the street.
I now have a dinghy on top and very cloudy canvas.

I really enjoyed the ride to tices. I love being on the river and I find the bay rather pretty. I will be back next Saturday and hopefully spend the night at the marina. I just met my slip neighbors this weekend and I think they want to hang out!!!

Hopefully we can meet up next time you come over to cassidsy.

Rumor has it that they will be showing a movie at Tices this weekend. Does anybody know how they are going to accomplish this??????

by the way, I am at Tices every weekend. My marina is on Cedar Creek, which is almost directly across the bay from Tices. I have the only 420 da with an old school stand-up Jetski mounted on the swimplatform.

Far to the south of the walkway the crowd thins out(little quieter), and there are a few deep water( 3.5 to 4.0 feet) holes where we can anchor some large boats only 100 feet from shore. Makes an easy walk to shore.

Is this an invite throw you a line? If we are in he area we will look for you....

Movie Night AT Tices----how appropriate JAWS-will be on a 12 foot by 12 foot screen--they ask that you bring dinks to get close. showtime 9:30.

Sounds like fun. I have to check it out.

The County has pump out boats that can come to you. They operate on VHF channel 9 and are free. I know the south end/tices area works almost everyday. Ocean Gate Yacht Basin and Good Luck Point Marina have fuel, both are located at mouth of the Toms River on south side. I'm pretty sure they both have pump outs also.

Same here on the five bucks.
This is a great service they provide for pumping out. They come right to the marinas and next to you in your slip, and pump away. They also circle tices shoal and pumpout all weekend long.

Pog, if you're still looking for a place to get pumped out, check out Bob & Beth at C&C Marina in Bayville. They're just west of Buoy 39 in the bay, easy in/out.

Another great place to go! Glad you got to enjoy Tices.
