Hello
driving me nuts! alarm beeps twice every 2 minutes , port engine alarm, i read some blogs here and said it could most likley be the Iac valve - i replaced them each engine as well as the iac muffler filter. The alarm will sound when at slow speed but now after replacing the Iac valves it will stop after Wot , and returning to slow speed no alarm. so it is intermittent and then static before wot. Any other suggestions ?? all fluids are good except tab fluid low but i dont think theres an alarm for that , all temps good, engines have 94 hours ,

Water pressure sensor? Maybe why it stops beeping at WOT since it's getting enough water and starts again at idle. I've replaced both of mine within the last year and mine is an 05. Same motors but I have the Smartcraft guages which tells me the problem.

i would readout the engines and you know more , so its a wild quessing without smartcraft.

but the blogger who suggested you to change the iac should pay for this hint. a failed iac will result in engine stalling at idle but running normal at speed and will not generate any beeps . was there first hand , your sympotms have absolutely nothing im common with a failed iac...

Water pressure sensor would put boat in limp mode.... Probably not that. Put a scan tool on it instead of guessing and you will know for sure.

By the way, a faulty IAC would absolutely generate beeps as you describe, however, it would also stall at idle.

i had a faulty iac on my 2006 5.0mpi and the only thing was stalling at idle , no alarms and no beeps ( with smartcraft )

Rinda/tech mate , but they are expensive, call a tech who has one, they are roughly $500, so maybe it is worth having a legit Merc mechanic look at it.

That's interesting, good to know, mine have always beeped; the tell tale as you say is the stall at idle.

it was the water pressure sensor , i had installed it in the wrong spot ! no more alarms :smt038

I also had the intermittent alarm. At idle my water pressure showed 0.00 and the alarm went off, at speed the pressure would go up and once it reached approx. 2.0psi the alarm would go off. The engine never went into limp mode. Haven't had it fixed yet, but my mechanic immediately said it would be the water pressure sensor as the temp never went out of the normal range. He will replace it when he pulls the boat to winterize it next week.
