The original VHF radio on my 2006 Sundancer is dead. The pins have broken off and are all bent. I'd like to mount a new VHF radio just above the old one on the dash. Has anyone done this? Can you unplug the power source and antenna through the fuse bay and reuse them for the new radio?

Any suggestion on a good low priced radio?

Thanks.

I just replaced my Raymarine 215 with a Standard Horizon GX1600. I had to enlarge the hole in the panel (top to bottom), and make a face plate out of black ABS plastic, but it ended up fitting in the panel nicely.

I highly recommend a Fein Multimaster type tool with a rasp blade in it for enlarging the hole. It makes short work of cutting fiberglass.

bought a standard horizon GX1700 last year. works great.i bought mine online for about $220 and had a $40 rebate so $180 net. not sure if there are still any rebates available though

hope you saved your cord and mic from the raymarine 215. Lots of guys looking for them. They are unavailable

Hi Ski

was your 215 still working? If so interested in selling?
