Mid-90's 270 Sundancer Thread

Also, I never received the key that operates the waste management control unit mounted in the head. Is that required to have my waste tank emptied at a marina? The boat is pump out only so there's no way to discharge overboard and wasn't sure if they actually vacuum my he waste out or if I have to pump it though their hose.

Gary, the key that you put in the helm should fit into the head. It takes some finagling sometimes.

You don't need to operate that if you use a pump out station at the marina.

I have been looking at the ac units to install, and I am also looking at getting new carpet and I cannot find anything out their for this boat.

recently purchased my 1996 27DA twin 4.3. Having a lot of fun learning what to do with two engines.
I found the port window seals and screens on ebay at a good price 11889580_1072986676044759_7173124784690744504_n.jpg

Took a 3 hr boat trip on our 98 270SE. Once docked found the cabinet carpet under the bathroom sink soaked and the toilet paper wet and starting to grow mold that was under there so it was wet for a while. After docking the galley floor showed signs of wetness an by morning was very wetImageUploadedByTapatalk1441547234.369751.jpg
What is under the floor in this area? Could the window in the bathroom be leaking and running behind the bathroom liner? We have had some very heavy rains over the last couple weeks.

If there is a pump in a box under the step you are standing on in the picture, that will be the cause. I have a 9.2 wide 270 and I had the same issue.
I unscrewed the top of the box and cleaned up the float switch, confirmed the pump now works.
In my model that box drains the a/c tray and shower floor drain.

Hope this helps.

Nope. The sump is bone dry and that area where it sits under the garbage bin is dry. Thanks for the suggestion.

If the sump is dry, Only others things I can come up with is your fridge is leaking or the porthole over it.

Or the bow rail on that side needs to be siliconed to the fibreglass.
On mine it was the sump that was not working ,overfilled and leaked in the same spot .
Has not leaked on the carpet since I cleaned it up and got the sump working.
Hope you can solve the mystery

My best guess is the porthole frame in the bathroom is leaking and running down between the bathroom liner and hull then the water works itself loose on a bumpy ride. I'll Rebed the porthole and see if that helps. It looks like the side cleats and bow rail fittings have headliner material covering the bolts in the cabin and it would be obvious if they were the culprit.

I think it is competitive if it include the trailer. Need interior photos. Are you on boat trader or yacht world? Craigslist.

Hello
I wonder if anyone has found a place to buy new plastic rollers for the midcabin curtain rail on a 270da 1997?
It`s a small white plastic roll to hang the curtain on the rail, about 1/4" diameter.
I need about 10 pc`s.
Best regards from Sweden where the season has ended and we are just waiting for the snow.

I NEED HELP ANY ONE WITH ANY IDEAS ????I have a 1996 270 sundancer. when I went to empty the fresh water holding tank, turned on pump and it held, then went to turn on water in sinks, pressure was good at first and then went to about 1/2. Later found water pooling in the floor of the cabin and under the steps into cabin. Under sinks were dry and water was coming out of the drains. Does any one have any idea where this water is coming from?

Check the hand held transom shower in the aft storage/access hole. That standard outdoor faucet could have a bad seal, or the shower head could have cracked. I found the shower head cracked on mine due the previous owner not having winterized it. I fixed that, and then found the packing seal on the shutoff valve to be leaking and had to tighten down the nut a little bit. All is good now.
