I am a week old owner of a '99 SeaRay Sundancer 340. Manual indicates that it is equipped with a T-fitting allowing me to fill both tanks at once. I fill'er up for the first time yesterday and when I got going, I glanced at the fuel gauges. Starboard fuel gauge showed a full tank, however the port side gauge read little less than 1/2 a tank. My question would be, is this boat really equipped with T fitting to fill both tanks simultaneously or is the fuel gauge faulty? Or do I have to fill both tanks independently?

Never heard of such a thing. I've heard of transfer systems that allows you to shift fuel from between tanks, but those are usually on diesel boats.

I think you have balance valves that allow you to select which tank each engine draws from. Gas boats with generators often have them. It helps you regulate fuel use when running the gen a lot. You still have to fill each tank individually though.

The side you are filling on fills that tank. Older searays had crossover valves stoped around 96.

my 2001 does not have this feature.....maybe it was an option for 1999 but it was not for 2001...

Yeah if you guys have not heard of it, then I know something is up. According to the manual it is a T fitting that allows for both gas tanks to be filled at once regardless of fuel used. It is in a PDF manual for 1999 Searay Sundancer 340, I downloaded offline. However if you guys have not heard of this T fitting, based on your experience on fueling your Sea Rays, then my conclusion is that I need to fill both gas tanks independently.

no,no,no..... Please post a link to the PDF. I would love to be able to do a retrofit that lets me do a complete refuel from dockside only.

me too....it would be nice to be able to fill both fuel tanks from one filler port...this should keep both tanks at the same level all the time.....i would also like to fill my fresh water tank while connected to shore water but that is a subject for another thread...

I have the crossover valves. They do not allow you to fill both tanks at the same time but do allow you to choose which tank to run on.

that could come in handy if you were having problems with one tank....

O.k. let me work on that. I am as new to forms as to boating. Have to figure how to do things. Ill post link soon.

Ok so today I filled up the port side tank and sure enough the gauge was working as it marked a full tank. Therefor the t fitting that the manual was referring to is either not installed or it doesn't work as I had to fill both tanks individually. Atleast there is nothing wrong with the gauges.

Disregard previous post with owners manual link as it does not apply to 1999 340 Sundancer
