Has anyone replaced a Good all rope windlass with a Good rope/chain windlass?

We have a 1992 330. The windlass needs some work so we decided to buy a new Good windlass that would let us use rope and chain. Received the new one but according to the specs there isn't enough room below in the anchor locker. Spoke to Good and they say they have done many SeaRays with no problem.
Would sure like to hear if anyone has done this and how it worked out!
 
The original one was a Good all rope windlass. The deck seems to be ok. What type of repairs?
 
I installed a Good rope/chain a few years ago. I soon found I did not have enough space in my anchor locker, only 17" high. I did not have enough drop for the rode to pull and lay itself down, so I had many jams with the chain. I now have a Maxwell HRC8 Horizontal above deck. The Maxwell uses the same deck holes as the old Good but needs larger gauge wiring. The Maxwell works and now with all chain even better.
 
I replaced my old Good rope only with the new Good rope/chain using their trade-in deal, everything works great, although my locker may be a little bigger than yours. Did you follow the instructions on how to get the coil out of the new rope? that could be your problem.
