How Many Others Are Affected By Flooding

Went and visited my boat this last weekend. Batteries dead as a door nail. Pretty sad really. Waiting through all the crappy winter weather and now that its beautiful outside it just has to sit there. Probably be at least a month before we get power and can use it again.

At least I can go visit mine. But being on the hard for repairs still isn't the same. Hopefully all the work will be done about the time we can get back into marinas.

Have a friend with a boat on Texhoma, know quite a few on Lewisville. Tough summer for north Texas boating.

I was up there Sunday as well. My batteries were dead, which I was wishing were not... Oh well. I hope we can be there for the 4th, but we shall see.

Copb8tx, I feel your pain! All winter, even though I was up about every other weekend, and now it's beautiful! 635 we get power back on, or at least that's the story the old timers on the dock are saying.

Hang in there! We will get through this!

Can you guys get a jumpack and at least get the genny started and get the batteries charged? I would be concerned about no power to you bilge pumps.

Sorry that you all have to go through this

Zorba, yes I can and that's what I'm going to do! Football fan, we are at 634.95 at 1200... I'm pathetic, I check it every couple hours!

We're already down to 634?? I thought we were still in the 640's.

Some of my friends who go up there more regularly than me have been running a generator and cycling it through each of our slips. Hopefully enough juice for the bilge pumps.

Copb8tx, you're right, it's 643...... Now I'm getting dyslexia!!! I wish it were 634....

Just heard that Lewisville was open to boats today. Ramps are still closed.

Hope there is not a lot of debris still floating.

Catfish Bay has water and electricity as of last Friday night! We still have to be ferried out to the dock, but that's ok, keeps the boat/dock life slow! We spent the weekend out there and even tooled around on our SeaDoo's. It was great to be back on the water! How are the rest of you doing?

We still don't have power or water. I'm not sure at what point it'll be turned back on but I can tell you that it was turned off at 632'. 632 is a ways off I'm afraid.

Ouch.... I'm sorry to hear that, and yes, 632 is a ways off. I see they closed the gateways to 9 ft, I'm sure they are trying to stop some of the flooding in LA. Hope it'll be down by the 4th you.

I stand corrected, I just checked, and they closed them to 7 ft........

Not directly related to Texhoma, but the other N Texas lakes. Was talking with someone over the weekend whole deals with disaster preparedness in the area.

Many of the lakes around the DFW area ( Grapevine, Lewisville, Ray Roberts) serve as a flood control mechanism for much of Dallas county. Each of these lakes has been over the spillway for several days.

His comment was that everyone of these lakes were multiple feet UNDER normal levels prior to this rain event. Had they been at normal levels - there would have been several additional feet of water that would have gone downstream.

Tropical storm Bill is due to hit the Texas coast tomorrow and we're expected to get 4-5" of rain over the next few days. Not going to help the lake levels drop for sure!

I heard the same thing. The guy at the marina was saying they'll shut power off Wednesday at 1200..... Oh well!
