Last year we were all worried about how low the lake would go. And now we're worried about how high it'll get!!

Our marina's cut the power and water to our docks. All our parking lots and ramps are under water. Water is up to the SECOND floor of the restaurant. And this weekend 3 boathouses broke loose and drifted around the marina. Even if you could get to your boat no sane persons going to want to risk going through the muddy water and hitting something submerged. Not sure we're going to get much of a boating season this year.

SIGH.....

Time to look for alternate entertainment. Maybe we'll start hosting pool parties again. Hosted a great one for all our displaced boating friends this last Sunday. Weather gods were kind enough to turn the sun on right as the party started and kept it shining until then.

I'm in the same boat (or lack of...) at Catfish Bay. I saw a couple of pictures on another site of Highport and the restaurant under water. Isn't that whee you keep your boat?

Oh well, I'm getting caught up on projects around the house until I can get back to the boat. I've got 2 SeaDoos that I can trailer somewhere, maybe in a couple weeks I'll go play on them. Hope your boat is ok!

Between the tornado and the high waters I'm getting a s#|+ load done around the lake house...

We're 12' above 'normal' (or more like 16 compared to where we've been the last 3 years) and expected to crest at 31'. The corp is letting out what they can without flooding Tulsa and the next lakes down river but it's going to be bad. I helped tow over a section of the marina from across the lake that the guys had been hoping to reuse when they rebuild from the twister. It had been on dry land and 'got away' from them.

So far I believe my boat is ok. I know my dockhouse and those around me have held tight but three broke loose and were floating freely within the marina. If that happens to me there's a good change it'll damage my bow pulpit since I stick out 6'.

Has it crested yet? Have friends that have boats there, tough year.

Do you think there will be a boating season at all this year?

Not sure if it's crested or not. Got quite a bit more rain last night where my house is. It's going over the spillway so there's no stopping it now.

I think at the very best it'll be at least a couple of months before the lake is usable and has some services.

Send some of that water out West! I hope everything works out back there. We are dry as a bone like you used to be but. Ever get storms like yours so things look bad here...

That restaurant at High Point was just rebuilt a few years ago. I heard the water is in it.

Yeah....what Ken said. I just got an official notice on Friday that I can only water the lawn on Sundays, the shrubs Tuesday and Friday, no rinsing of driveways, walks and patios and no vehicle washing. This part really sucks as I am trying to get the inside of the Cobalt cleaned so I can start putting the motor back together.

Time to move but I'm not sure there is a perfect place.

The water is up to the CEILING of the main level of the restaurant. Fortunately when the building was rebuilt after the last flood it was designed to go under water. They now remove all of the appliances, furniture, etc. and let it go under. Allegedly all the building materials can be sprayed down and won't rot. Not sure how the power is handled though.

My wife and I were there last year and talking to the lady behind the bar, and we asked what the line on the wall was. "That's how high the water was in '07!" She then told us the same thing, it was rebuilt to go under, I hope it works for them.

My wife is on flood insurance for a major bank and just can't understand why they keep building where they do, and how they can afford flood insurance on the building. They must own it outright and keep money aside to rebuild when the time comes....

We received a lot of rain the past week and Lake Travis has come up about 23 feet. Close to 30 foot since Jan but it's still down 22 feet.

I went out to our marina on Saturday and had to take a shuttle out to the boat due to the walkways were under water. The Marina had moved all the docks out due to the low water conditions and now my dock is in the middle of the lake.

The down side of all the rain is the flooding along with all the people that have lost their homes and some ...their loved ones. So sad.

We have actually enjoyed the lake being low due to all the public ramps being closed and the private ones charging $40 to launch. After 8 pm all the rentals have to be in and that left the whole lake to ourselves in the evenings without all the rolling wakes from boat traffic.

Central Texas is no longer in an extreme drought situation. Not sure what it is classified at this moment.

V-Shaped boat house is actually floating loose and jammed across main marina channel. Small boathouse to the back is also loose.

You can't tell from the picture too much but ALL the walkways and parking lots are far under water. The parking lot you see belongs to the resort and is WAY above lake level

Here's our restaurant. You're looking at the office on the top floor. The restaurant, that has VERY high ceilings, is completely underwater.

Maybe I'll sub-rent it and create the world's first scuba 'dive bar'! :smt001

Lol on the dive bar!

The corp was prepared. A few days ago they loaded all their endangered ranger offices and entrance stations on flatbeds to haul out. I don't know if this was after the '07 high water but I don't remember hem doing that before. Keystone should reach its highest level ever.

Here is a photo of our Marina on Lake Travis taken an hour ago.

10 days I could park 150 feet away. Today its more like 300 yards.

Took a bike ride past Travis a few weeks ago. It looked like a lunar landscape in some of those coves. Boathouses laying around everywhere. Sad to see. I used to do poker runs with a friend there several years ago and was always jealous of how great that lake was.

Good luck. Wish we could send some of our excess your way.
