Carpet, teak, faux teak, or naked

Have NuTeak in the cockpit, swimplatform and bridge to the stairs. Installed about four year ago and love it still. Gets tons of compliments. I also installed the woven mat on the bridge last summer. I didn't want to give up the comfort of carpeting on he bridge, but wanted to continue the look of teak. Looks like Teak #4 sample in previous post. So far, love it. Also great in that it doesn't trap dog hair!

We threw our carpets out ages ago., too much trouble. Love our PlasDECK which is a big improvement.

I don't like the look or empty feeling of bare floors but I agree about the wet, dirty carpet over time. I had SnapInCarpet .com send me some samples of their teak Marine Weave synthetic snap in flooring...it's the same a material that Cliff installed in his 340DA (http://clubsearay.com/showthread.php/71851-new-generation-of-marine-carpet).

They're sending me a quote for Teak #2 my Cobalt.... I like that it gives a finished look but it's easy to clean and it doesn't retain water like carpet. Here's a link...scroll down a bit to see the synthetic: http://www.snapincarpet.com/products.cfm

David,

Try using a scotch bright pad. It cleaned mine right up.

Regarding no carpet, I wish.... My factory non-skid is non-existent. Slippery when wet to say the least. It's ok with shoes but in the sunny south, most people are in bare feet. I'm definitely considering a faux teak upgrade as I hate carpet.

Scotchbrite it is. What did you use as a cleaner? I just this morning got a quote from SnapIn. $1300 plus shipping. Pretty, but a bit too rich for my blood. Maybe if I Duck Tape the webbings from an old lawn chair....... Wonder if that would work.

PlasDECK in Classic Teak with Off White lines being fabricated this week. Doing cockpit, integrated swim platform, and Sea-Lift. My expectation is it will completely change the boat, should really "pop". I will not miss the carpet. Will post pics after it's installed.

I am in process of installing Infinity woven PVC flooring on my boat. I am doing swim platform, cockpit, steps, & bridge. Finished the swim platform today. I bound the edge with black Sunbrella using Tenara teflon thread. I have been searching for a product like this for years. I am loving this stuff.

Hi BritLady,

I have been thinking about NuTeak for my cockpit and swim platform, how hot does your PlasDECK get in the summer?

Ii does get a bit hot but we don't find it an issue. We always wear flip flops or deck shoes and have old towels on the swim platform to sit on. It soon cools off if you spray it with cold water too. Hope that helps.

David, my previous 300DA and current 175 Sport both had/have the honeycomb nonskid. My 400DB has the sandpaper nonskid. I much prefer the sandpaper nonskid. Nothing gets stuck in crevices and it has a more homogenous look for me.

I hate the sandpaper finish. I feel like it holds onto dirt better. My friends boat with the diamond pattern always seemed easier to clean.
