This is a pic of what I found when checking out my props recently. I had the props cleaned up and balanced, and they look better than new, and I looked at the Pod and saw this Mercathode failure damage. I have new anodes installed every spring, so what your seeing happened over last season. The worst area is just astern of where my batteries sit in the ER above and a little left of the port pod. The starboard pod has only minimal invasion....any thoughts?

I don't think that is corrosion, looks like a little marine growth and some bottom paint missing. I thought that all the pods were made out of bronze and stainless so those materials will not have corrosion in a marine environment. But to be safe, have someone from your dealer look at it and comment.

Oh I wished it was just the normal growth from the Ohio lol, but the boat yard confirmed the problem. It's a known issue apparently and Merc has sent in new anodes to try after remediation of the damage. They have seen plenty of it in the salt water but mine is the worst in fresh water......

Hello fellow Cincinnatian. I don't have the knowledge to comment on the subject but best of luck.
