Is this the FIRST USED 650 Fly to hit the market?

You guys are over estimating both the purchase price and the hourly running cost.

I think he may know what he is talking about....look at his boat details.....did you have a 58 Sedan?

Congrats....when do you take delivery?

You are absolutely correct. We were very close to ordering a new 650 fly, but decided to wait until the secondary market developed. We were immediately approached regarding this boat. FYI, it is listed higher than the new purchase we negotiated.

The prices everyone is listing is based upon the build sheet which I have a copy of. That is NOT the sold or negotiated price.

We are still looking, but may wait another year.

This makes a lot of sense. Just curious, as a potential buyer what do you like/not like abou the L650 Fly?

My thought is for the price, even north of $3million, a 4-5year old Ocean Alexander 80 or similar can be had and I feel like it's more ship for the $$. Something that can really go for the long haul. Even the Prestige 750 is an intersting alternative. Of course, it also comes down to customer service and support. Not knocking the SR, there are just several options in that class.

Let me start out by saying the 650 fly is an unbelievable boat. It handles better than any boat I have been on. I had it in wind and current off of Captiva and could hold it steady by joystick.

The space inside has no comparison with our 58DB even though the LOA's are somewhat similar.

We sat sideways to 2-3's and the boat did not rock at all with the Gyros.

My personal philosophy has been to purchase slightly used in order to avoid the early depreciation. I really believe this boat should be around $2M in a couple of years.

One unfortunate situation pushing us away from SR is the MM customer service. I personally have had very bad experiences with the local MM regarding service on our 58. Some of the things they did would make you sick.

That being said, good quality used boats have been good for us.

The boats you listed are all good. I do however lean toward a Viking, or a Sunseeker.

That's some of the best unbiased feedback I've read. I'm also glad to hear the gyros work as designed.

Right now my business does not give me the flexibility to take long voyages, but one day my plan is to purchase a boat in that size range that I can keep in the Chesapeake/Potomac during the summer and then take to Florida and the Caribbean during the winter. While I like the L650 on paper, I think there are some options that may be more practical for long range cruising. Sunseeker makes some great bosts. Have you looked at Fairline?

I'm fortunate to have a SR dealer that isn't MM. I have heard more negatives than positives about MM.

I believe the one going to LOTO is the L650 Express...

which one is this?

Think I might need to upgrade the hitch on the SUV.

Sea Gull, please stop jerking us around tell us what you paid for the L650.

And while you're at it, a copy of your last three years' tax returns, both business and personal, would be most helpful.

Thank you for your immediate compliance with this request.

Inquiring minds want to know.

I've heard from an unreliable and made-up source that these boats are selling faster than they can be built and there are bidding wars to get the next one - recently, one was bid up to $6.5million.

Some interesting points to consider:
1. Pound for pound, a NY steak dinner costs more.
2. I am paying less than some and more than others. What I am paying is completely within my budget AND none of your business.
3. I am getting exactly what I want. We have had input from the first sketches to the last minute decorating detail to ensure all are to our liking.
4. I have looked at every new and many used boats in the 65-72 foot range (including a "72" with an LOA of over 80 feet). In my opinion, the L650Fly is the best of the best.
5. You will NOT see my L650Fly transported to a lake by truck.

Anyone on CSR who wants a tour is welcome to ask. (asking with a bottle of Dewar's in your hand will get a faster response. A bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue will be even faster). If you and I dig deep into said bottle I might even talk pricing with you. There will also be opportunities to see the new Sea Gull on the East Coast this summer: Sign up for the 3rd Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous in Atlantic City - we will be there. (T-shirt sponsors get first dibs). Also, we plan to attend the MarineMax rendezvous in Montauk this August.

See you on the water!

Problem is that MM in Florida the service is horrible , if they can't service a small boat how can there properly service a large one ?
btw customer service at Sea Ray Is good , but MM is clueless . Also we are in the market for around 50' at the end of year after owning 7 sea rays I'm going to look at other brands too as their is a lot of competition in that size range

#6: If you are with the IRS and the boats a-rockin' don't come a-Knockin'. (also please turn on the gyro stabilizers on your way out.)

Y'all heard it here first!!!!
