I saw this last year and think the Admiral will like it better than a traditional hook. Many of the docks we go in have very little for a hook to catch on. This will slip over a wood or metal dock post, or grab the cleat itself. I ordered one so I'll report back when we use it.

Would want to hear about it. Have seen them in the back of boating magazines - always wondered about them.

Yuo know at this time of year a comment like the last one could head the thread south fast.Hmm...mabey it already did.

I got one this winter. We're still a couple of months away from trying it on the water but it seems to work well in the garage.

 Now that's funny:) Seriously, would love to hear how well it works "on the water" from all that have one.

I have the landing loop and have used it in certain situations, typically when I am docking by myself and/or during windy conditions. Even with finger piers, it is nice to lasso a cleat from afar without stepping off the boat. From my perspective it can be a useful tool but you need to practice using it. At first, it may feel a little awkward or top heavy.

I run by myself sometimes as well, so I would be interested to hear more from folks who bought one. Also, how long is it when it retracts, for stowing?

I thought about trying one of these... not a big investment but a video clip from ship-shape tv looks pretty useful and simple.

I have this one and do use it to tie off the boat to hard to reach pylons. The reason I'm interested in the Landing Loop is to give the Admiral better odds of catching the cleat or post to hold the boat on the first try, when the usual way to catch it is to toss a loop.

Mike, Were you ordering while having a few adult sodas ?.

Been there, done that. :smt021

I made something similar from PVC pipe but haven't used it much, I have more fun watching my wife trying to lasso the pylons and cleats.

I just got this at the boat show.. Haven't used it yet. Thinking the wife will love it. And if so, I win!!

i ordered and received this hook/loop yesterday....very impressed with the quality....i also like the way the extendable pole locks into position and won't slide in or out...i am sure this will come in handy while docking the 340....

I want to say that if the Landing Loop is what you want they are sure nice folks to do business with. First thing is it was shipped immediately and I received it in 2 days from their free shipping. I sent them an email outlining my mistake and they not only sent a return authorization number but sent me a free pack of their snap extenders. I have not sent it back yet and may still keep it to try and report back to all of you. I hate to return it on them as they are so nice, but I certainly wanted you to know how nice they were about it.
