502 MAG, Bravo I
I posted this in the spring fever thread but I can't contain my excitement so I'm starting a new thread to share with everyone. I think my hobby is turning into an obsession if not an addiction. At this exact time last year I found a mint 1997 Cobalt 200 that was being offered for a steal of a price and I purchased it on the spot when the outside temp was -10º.

Well it happened again. As much as I loved the 200, I recently found an even better one at another steal of a price. I've spent the last 3 weeks negotiating and found a buyer for my 200 while in that process.

Here's my new to me 1997 Cobalt 232. Compared to my 200, this one is 3'8" longer, 4" wider and it has a 502 MAG with 415 HP, 250 hours, most of the interior has been reupholstered, it has completely new sound system and the previous owners added an extended swim platform last season that looks factory. It also has a custom Eagle trailer with custom wheels.

Very NICE !!! and Congrats on the new toy. .

Nice boat! Congrats. There are a ton of Cobalts here on Okanagan Lake. Rayburns Marine is the dealer here and it seems the oil guys from Alberta like them along with the NHL guys who summer here.

Great at rides on the water!

congrats TB, looks awesome, and I'm thinking you will love the room and power upgrades.....

Keep this up and you will be back in a cruiser in no time.........congrats on being a wise consumer!

Thanks everyone...spring can't come fast enough!

Frank -- that's my wife's fear. She said, "I see your plan...you think you're going to get a slightly bigger boat each your until we're back in a slip with a cruiser." She followed that statement with "Enjoy this boat...you will have it for awhile." She's a good sport and my intentions were a bit too obvious I guess. A happy wife is better than a bigger boat.

I thought you bought the first one because you used to own it years ago.... or was I in an Absolut fog?

I heard it was underpowered with the 502:smt043

Congratulations on your purchase.
