Even in a slow news time like this holiday no national media has reported this so far.

"MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead and another on the run after an attempted home invasion.

Officers responded to a home in the 2300 block of Devoy at about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, where they saw 22-year-old Nico Carlisle with multiple gunshot wounds lying at the front door. Officials pronounced Carlisle dead at the scene.

Investigators say Carlisle and another man knocked on the door, then forced their way inside when a woman answered the door. Carlisle then put a gun to the woman’s neck.

The homeowner grabbed a handgun before going to investigate the commotion, and fired multiple shots at the men, hitting Carlisle."

Something like this also happened recently in Charlotte. 14yo shot and killed an intruder after giving warning. Then just the other night someone shot into the house. Police think it was in retaliation.

If you all took sensitivity training, you wouldn't be spewing this venom.

I consider those who protect their homes and family by dropping the bad guys heros! In the early 80's a doctor I know had an intruder open his bedroom door in the middle of the night. He had already readied himself with his bedside pistol, asked who walked in the room and when there was no answer.....he shot him dead. My hero! (Helluva way to wake up his wife though)

The sad part about a person shooting someone to defend his life is that the shooter, even when he's found to have committed justifiable homicide, will endure the effects of post shooting trauma. Those effects are real and vary from person to person, but with an effective counselor they're usually not permanent.
