Hell all!
Just wanted to get a feel of your preferences on brands/types of wax and polish.

Looking to brighten up the white, non-step areas of my deck.

Also, I have a low speed, power buffer/polisher.
Any suggestions on which bonnet to use to make it nice and shiny?

Thanks much!

My green hull likes Meguires Flagship Cleaner Wax with a coat of Collinte 925 afterward. I do it 2-3x a season stem to stern and have had good results. Nice deep green "wet" color and it seems to hold up nicely to the sun's torture. Nonskid seems to do well with Woody Wax. I wouldnt wax/buff it, because it can be VERY slippery if waxed, defeating the point of non-skid.

Tried the Starbrite Polish with PTEF the first round this season because of a WM sale, and likely wont be using it any more now that the bottle is done.

I used the Shurhold Pro Polish on the non-skid areas just as on the Ship Shape TV show. It was no more slick than before and it looks perfect. Used a DA polisher with the yellow shurhold brush and it came out beautiful.

I use Marine 31 products and like the results. Good prices compare to other marine specific products.

hi, just to put my 5 eggs in i use mer polish and found the results are good.not used an electric polisher on it and the shines remarkable.mer shampoo adds to the shine too.

Whatever the detailer uses when he does it

I honestly like 3M products. I go all the way down to Super Duty Compound in some areas, Imperial Compound and Finishing in others that aren't as oxidized, and then finish with 3M wax. For the non-skid I use a Shurhold buffer brush and 3M Restorer Wax, then go back over with another layer of 3M wax. I haven't used this method on my new boat yet, but it worked awesome on my center console.

Let's see ..... I use a nice pen , probably made in China ..... And a check , it's not really abrasive though , but it gets the whole boat rubbed waxed and detailed for around $2100.00.....and the detailer uses 3m products and practically kills himself doing it . Me I just takes blown out arms and hand him the check . Done

Hey DDD, you might find this thread of interest. I am taking the advice of Jeff (Tc410) post #21.

After 6 seasons of using 3M Color/Gloss Restorer, followed up with Meguairs Flagship wax. I've had good results; but think this will take it up a notch. Everything I need is on order, and can't wait to get to work sometime mid March.

Just wanted to add a note that if your glass looks great are not aggressively buffing due to it having a nice shine. I recommend doing a wipe down w/ 3m Sharpshooter. This is a high tech cleaner that will remove the old wax and dirt fast. Just apply with sponge and lightly work in. Then wipe off. Your now ready to use an orbital polisher to apply your wax.
