In the process of winterizing my boat and I noticed that after draining the freshwater tank and pumping out the head there is about 1.5" of liquid in the tanks - I assume since there is room for the water to expand that it will be OK but thought I would run it buy you guys.

Thanks

Why not run some pink antifreeze through the system to be safe.

Make sure your water pump for the potable water system is loaded with pink. Take the hose off feeding the pump and run pink through it and leave if off. Ice in the water tank will not cause damage if there is room to expand. Head, same thing. Turn the water off to the head, pump it out, clean the head and pour a gallon of pink down the head and flush that through the pump to the holding tank.If you have washdowns and cockpit showers, ice maker etc. Those all need pink through the pumps and water lines.

I put pink everywhere that is needed. I blow out all of my water lines. i guess i can dump some af in there but would need quite a bit to protect it from freezing.

If you have a macerator on your holding tank, that needs to get pinked as well. I'm thinking your boat is not built that way but if it is, the macerator pump will freeze if not winterized. Transom shower, same thing if you have one.

OK, I'm guessing that the water in the tanks is not an issue??? I have the rest down pat, I just happened to notice some liquid in both tanks - I am sure it was in there last year so looks like I will be good.
