I am looking to mount a TV in the helm deck and I would also like to install a larger TV in the salon as the existing TV is a bit small and does not have a digital tuner. Curious if any other 480 MY owners have done this and if so I would love to know what has worked and see some pictures if you have any. Thanks in advance for any input you can offer.

I did a tv upgrade on my cabin and added one in my cockpit. Can watch both at same time on different channels using one antenna. I have pics of the install and the mounts I used in some previous threads.

Now what the hell good is a TV installation in a 340 Sundancer to a guy looking for help on a 480 Motor Yacht. Different sizes and boat types or is that a surprise.......Good lord, where is ********.....

Autovette, He was just trying to help! Knot it, Your post was fine. Anytime you feel that you have something to offer do not hesitate to post and offer your help. I am sure Jack appreciated your offer of help. JC

How is that helping? That's like going to a dentist for advice on brain surgery (sorry Dr. Ron). The differences between a 340 Dancer and a 48MY are a bit drastic, don't you think?

If it is not going to help and is not what the OP is looking for, why post ? Your serve.

Club Sea Ray is a site dedicated to helping each other. I very seldom see a post like yours on here.
If you want to internet fight I suggest you go somewhere else. This forum is about helping fellow members not putting down their welcome attempts to help each other. I do not have time nor the inclination to get in a juvenile fight with you. I believe the Mods will take care of this shortly. Thanks, JC

HMMMMMMMM..... a boater offers knowledge and experience from a project on a smaller craft to another boater looking to make a similar improvement on a larger craft.

OK....the exacts will not be the same, but the basics will. AC TV only or AC/DC recommendations would be similar. Grounding if a DC mount to ensure no stray current and eventual possibility of "pink props" would be similar. Antenna vs. Satellite would be similar.

NOPE......still looking for the downside.

I guess we are all entitled to an off day...... God knows I've had my share.

I appreciate the comments and I certainly am never one to turn down knowledge anyone has gained. I have done the TV upgrade thing on my last several boats so I was hoping to also get some 480 MY specific thoughts if anyone has done this on this particular model. I have a number of ideas but I have learned the hard way it is not always best to reinvent the wheel.

JV How the hell did you get involved in the first place.??? Ahhhh never mind.

I have done both (salon and helm deck).

Will send pics after this weekend.

Sneakers Rule!

I will look forward to the pictures. Very interested in how you chose to mount the TVs. Thanks for being willing to share. Two weeks into ownership and we are definitely enjoying the benefits of the "Sneaker Life"!

Jack,
Fall and spring are "sneaker season" when you will take advantage of the heated and cooled helm deck. Nothing better than watching football in the fall back there.
Enjoy!

We are definitely looking forward to the extended season we can enjoy without having to be "inside" over the 370 DA we just sold. We use the boat into November at least each year so the heated helm deck will be great especially at the Urbanna Oyster Festival.

Charlottesville to Urbanna in a 48 Sneaker!!!!!

Hell! I'd pay for the helicopter ride just to see you shoot the rapids to get there!!!!!

Time to send autovette packing. If you have nothing positive to add, don't add

November 7th-8th, Quite a few of us go the 6th and return back to Deltaville on the 9th. Come see quite a few of us at the Town Dock which is where we back in and the party begins. Great way to end most of the boating season although quite a few of us are year rounders.
