I have the Clarion and want to get a bluetooth adapter so I can play pandora over it. I have an Aux input and been doing some reading up on them but so many to chose and wondering if anyone has experience with a certain model.

I installed a Wet Sounds WW-BT-VC this season. Works great.

I have a Clarion bluetooth model 303 and it's awesome! Use it with my iphone and can change music 30 feet away.

FUSION BT-100 $38 on amazon, 15 minute install... plugs right into AUX ... works awesome

+1 on the Miccus BT. I added a 12-volt to USB adapter and it works great, connects to my iPhone when I turn the stereo on. Our Clarion doesn't have an aux input so for now I'm using a cassette adapter. The new Clarion 303 is in my future, tho.

+1 on the Miccus BT. Full coverage over the whole boat. I use it in place of the builtin BT which came with the Alpine head unit I installed.

I have had great success with the miccus BT receiver, so much so that I bought their transmitter to pair with it and broadcast the audio from my on-board TV that isn't BT compatible. Miccus connects well with my iPhone/iPod/iPad. Great device for a reasonable price. You'll fiind several others on here with the same unit.

Hey Jim, I have an AUX input on my stereo. Would this device allow me to use my Ipod remotely thru boat or would I need the Transmitter http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Receiver-Transmitter-Adapter-Devices/dp/B00E174RTS/ref=pd_cp_e_2 also????

Maybe it was a lemon. Seems to have Excellent reviews on Amazon. Mine works good so far.

maybe! It was working on the workbench during the winter. I could have toasted it during the install.

I got my Milennia Bluetooth Dongle today. Went to the boat and installed in seconds. Sounds and works so far.

The Miccus receiver is all you need if you want to port music from your BT enabled iDevice. Believe all ipods/pads are these days. I just needed the transmitter to plug into the TV's headphone jack to transmit TV/DVD audio to the receiver and out through the cabin speakers via the aux port. If you have any other non BT device that you want to get music/audio out of, the transmitter will do it.

Thanks Jim - I would need the Transmitter too. My Ipod is old school. No BT capabilities in it.

If you don't mind leaving the ipod wherever your stereo is, you can attach it with a male-to-male headphone jack connector. I will look for the part number but Bill and I installed a flush mount female-side headphone jack that connects to the aux input via Red/White standard RCA connectors. I can get you more info if you want to go that route. You'd likely need the female-to-rca anyway unless your head unit has a built in headphone jack for aux in the front.

I leave the Ipod at the radio now to use it with the hardwire into AUX jack. . I'm trying to be able to control it at the Helm without running wires thru dash and around fiberglass town......

Give me a call one evening. I think you have almost all you need. You just need to buy the miccus receiver, and transmitter if your ipod isn't BT capapble. For a more "pretty" solution In the thread below, there is a link to a similar adapter Bill and I used in my install for the aux connection. That converts headphone to the red/white RCA plugs for the back of the clarion head unit. We added that right into the wood control panel next to the stereo in the cabinet. Then you plug the miccus Bluetooth receiver's audio out jack into the new aux in headphone jack via male to male headphone wire... and good to go. At this point you can control the music via Bluetooth enabled iDevices. If your device isnt BT enabled, then you just need the BT transmitter too. Basically you are using the transmitter and receiver to replace your hard wire solution now.

At a minimum if you are already connected hard wire to your aux jack, you can plug that same headphone style wire into the miccus BT receivers output plug. If as you said your ipod isn't Bluetooth enabled, then you can also buy the miccus transmitter which you plug into your headphone jack on the ipod. That transmits to the miccus receiver in the closet next to the stereo (if you go similar to my setup) or into the hardwire you currently plug into your ipod.

Clear as mud?! Good. But seriously. It can be done REALLY easily depending on how much effort you want to put into it. I didn't want to replace my entire clarion setup since it all (including the remote) works, so this solution was best for me. It was the easiest quick fix and all done for under $70. Look at the photos in the miccus Bluetooth receiver amazon page. You'll see the various connection options that people have done and I think it'll make more sense. Or call me.
