As part of the ongoing battle with stinky smells coming from our toilet systems (including complete holding tank replacement), I recently replaced the poop line from toilet #1 to the Vacuflush vacuum accumulator tank. This involved dismantling the toilet and cursing my way through the project. . . Here's a step by step look at what's involved. 30 minutes of ****ty work to view, if interested . . .
BTW, I've since replaced the line on our forward toilet as well. SIX HOURS of cursing to get that one done!!

Always great videos. You need to get a little Black and Decker power screw driver, makes things go much faster. Couldn't live without one. Everything I've read says to make sure you use Sealand brand hose for all head lines. They are much more resistant to odors. Thanks again for the video.

Thanks for posting. I think this is a job I am going to tackle over the winter. I noticed that you are using a different type of hose than was originally used. Is this a superior hose to the original, what made you choose this hose?

Thanks,

Pete

Nice video.
I have a manual head but watched anyway!

Jeff

Thanks Jeff. Back when we had our 268 Sundancer, it had a porta-potti toilet setup, with no external holding tank. I ended up installing a proper Jabsco manual flush + new holding tank. Back in them days there was nothing in the way of online videos to learn from, so I'm happy to share this (& others) to see how 'doable' these projects are. Even if you don't have the Vacuflush toilets, there might be some insights you could use in the future . . I could write a book on our toilet systems on various boats over the years :-(

Excellent videos!! Thanks!

Thanks, Jimmy Buoy. I figured if I was in there anyway, might as well share the job to offer some insights wherever it may help!

BTW, we had a chance to both dock our current boat 'Boogaboo IV' in Sarnia AND drop a few dollars with the Canada Customs folks when we imported her into Canada from Michigan. Book is in the works from that grand adventure!! Keep an eye on my Boogabooster.com site or Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/Boogabooster4Fun) for updates on it's s-l-o-w progress ;-)

Cheers, Paul.

Thanks! I used the hoses that our marina sells. Have used them in previous projects on two prior boats and they seem to stand up well. . .

Thanks Pete.

As I mentioned to bahamabreisus, that is the hose that our local marina sells. I had used it on two prior boats with good results. The black hose from the factory seemed to be a bit heavier in construction, but I don't know if that had any impact on the longevity of odor permeability or not . . .? I'm just happy to have that portion of the toilet system overhaul behind me (no pun intended). I now only have the main line running through the n=engine room to do, but that's gonna have to wait to the off season for me. Did you get a chance to see the holding tank replacement video I posted here awhile back? --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0C-brrJH_A

Great video...especially the part where the graphics point out you're "off topic" ;)

good do stuff like always!

Paul,

I imported my last boat in Sarnia and could have written a book about the experience as well… Sure made me feel like a criminal!!
